There are...
...days until Doug Agnew (OLB 1978-1981) sees Michigan begin its 2023 season against East Carolina in the Big House on the first Saturday in September.

Go Blue!
The last time we featured the 1978 team (for which we are celebrating a 45th anniversary), the video companion was a full Ufer broadcast of The Game! I wish I could do that all 100 days, but why not make that a two-time streak with the full broadcast of Ricky Leach's triumph over Joe Montana and the Fighting Irish...
Check out Alex Drain's most recent MGOREVISITED post on this very game too!
Big thanks to Pizza Pizzichetti and enjoy.
Today, we move to the long-awaited final leg of this year's feature on Michigan Football jewelry. Let's begin looking at championship rings, shall we?!
We start with a unique outlier. While rings didn't officially start getting issued until 1964, the athletic department honored the 1947-48 National Champions at their 50th anniversary reunion with rings. Here's what they looked like:
What a beautiful ring! The design is perfect. Exudes power and class without being overly complicated. This is further emphasized by the fact that this is Alvin Wistert’s ring. Another home run, JWG!
Lastly for today, the NIL Spotlight shines on graduate defensive back Caden Kolesar and sophomore receiver Logan Forbes!

Looks like Doug is kneeling on concrete! I have a set of four coasters from that old turf.
Back in the day when there was a blue M on the 50.
Back in the day when some of us sported perms.
I didn't need a perm, all the elderly ladies back then loved my naturally curly hair.
That is some tremendous lettuce.
I was an undergrad during 3 of Mr. Agnew's seasons, but I don't remember him unfortunately. Still his picture brings back memories of that time and all the great seasons while I was a student.
You don’t remember him because he was in the program for only the ‘79 and ‘80 seasons and there’s no clear evidence he ever played in a game. The football database lists him as JV for ‘79, and he did not earn a varsity letter in 1980. Their are no recorded statistics for him, either. If he did get any game time it would have been late in blowouts. It would have been difficult for the OP to find a more obscure #35.
Among the more notable #35s are Thom Darden, Don Dufek Jr, and Josh Uche.
