Texas OT/DT Michael Starts--visit
It looks like Texas lineman Michael Starts is going to try and make a trip up to Michigan. This guy is a priority for UT on o-line (probably at RT), but he seems pretty open at this point. Should end up being an Rivals 250 sort, and 4 star lock. Here's the info:

great pick-up. I hope he gets up for a visit. I heard that he may want to play DL as opposed to OL. I believe A&M and Tech are recruiting as DL and Texas is recruiting as an OL.
I've read that too. Although Michigan is in a good position where they could maybe offer him a shot at either, and see where he performs best.
Has him as the #3 OG in the Country.
thinks he has the athleticism for tackle, though probably not the size to play on the left.
presumptuous last name he has going on there.
It's better than Jonathan Willbeafirstrounder.
Unless it's true. I hear Bert Fourtimeallamericanqb is a heavy Michigan lean in 2014.
How about Ron Heismantrophyallfouryears?
one of texas' vastly overrated lineman recruits.

Is there a priority for tackles versus guards in this recruiting class? I know O-Linemen are needed, but I don't know if there is a priority need for one position over the other.
I think tackle is the bigger need. As far as underclassmen go, we have Pace, Bryant, and Posada at guard. The only underclass tackles we have are Lewan and Schofield.
But as you can see, we need both.
Fred Jackson handle most of the recruiting in Texas?
If so, I expect to be hearing about how Starts is like a mix between Anthony Munoz and Bruce Matthews, but with quicker feet.
and a more bristly moustache
"Bristly", you say?
Actually Fred Jackson is now recruiting the Detroit area and other parts of Michigan. I think he was recruiting the south under RR because he also has some ties to the area. He is actually from Bouton Rouge, LA.
He was recruiting Texas/Louisiana under Carr, too.
Do other coaches have better ties to the south or is he better suited to be recruiting the Detroit area since he has been at Michigan for so long.
I don't think many of them have great contacts in the south. The coaches have spent the vast majorities of their careers either in the midwest (Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, etc.) or on the west coast (California, Arizona, etc.).
Mattison seems to be the guy recruiting Texas, for whatever that's worth.
of being a fan of people whose name is a complete statement (like Will Rhymes), I'm already a fan of Michael Starts.
What about Chester Pitts?
I personally believe what he does to stone fruit is an abomination.
I'll take chest. Pits are kinda nasty.
Great avatar. Was looking for that leprechaun.
I love recruits whose names form sentences.
is a Michigan lean. If he commits, teammates Heywood Jablowme and Ida Feltersnatch are sure to follow.
