Taysom Hill to transfer to Michigan?

Sounds like Taysom Hill is definitely leaving BYU after this season. Michigan is the only specific school his former OC mentions by name.

One possibility could be playing for Jim Harbaugh at Michigan, which starts a senior quarterback who transferred in for this season. Hill signed to play for Harbaugh at Stanford but never went there and transferred upon returning from a church mission after the coach left to take over for the San Francisco 49ers.

"I would tell Taysom to do the best thing for Taysom," Doman said. "If Michigan comes knocking and you've got a fifth opportunity to play quarterback for Jim Harbaugh, and that's the best thing for Taysom Hill then he should go do that for sure."

but I like the idea of him coming in for a year. Think about who can relistically start next year:
John O'Korn - a huge unknown
Wilton Seight - He's been decent, but not spectacular
Zach Gentry - Completely unkown
Malzone - rather small for a Harbaugh quarterback, and is compeltely unkown

I'm assuming Morris transfers and that we won't start a true freshman. Basically, we have a transfer no one has any idea about, and then a bunch of underclassmen. Brigning in Hill will, at the very least, raise the floor of quarterback performance.

Quarterback is the single most important position, let's not take chances.

Plus side:

  • MBA program at UofM (can't do much better than that, if this is your major).
  • Opportunity to be the starting QB at UofM with Harbaugh as your coach (can't do much better than that, if you're a college QB).
  • Opportunity to improve status as a prospective pro QB, if that is important to him.
  • Opportunity to prove past injuries were not the norm.

I don't really see any negatives from his viewpoint.  Am I missing something?
