Taylor Lewan Update

Submitted by TomVH on
I just spoke with Dave Lewan, and both he and Taylor are pumped! He told me about the visit, and how much they both enjoyed it. They were apart for most of the visit, and Dave said, "I was hoping that Taylor saw everything I did too." Before their visits they set the expectations for the coaches to meet, and Michigan met all of them. "Taylor never felt sold, he loves Coach Frey, and Coach Rodriguez. To see them laughing, and interacting naturally was awesome for him," Dave told me. Taylor thought it was a perfect fit, and they both said that Mike Barwis, "knocked their socks off." When it came down to it, having a degree from Michigan was very important to Taylor. The whole family is 100% comfortable and happy that Taylor chose Michigan. He planned on visiting Oregon, UCLA, Nebraska, and Cal, but obviously those won't be taking place.

Every recruit seems to get blown away" by Barwis. Lets hope Barwis backs up all his gravel-voiced talk and tuns this kid into an All-American. We need this kid to be a dominate force. This years group of O-lineman didn't seem like killers. Sometimes they seemed soft.

This years group of O-lineman didn't seem like killers. Sometimes they seemed soft. I actually thought that this was one of the greatest areas of improvment over the course of the season. Recall the attrition: Shilling the only returning starter. Injury to Zirbel and Hyuge. I think this unit will continue to get better as the rs freshmen and freshmen mature. I think 2008 was the low point for this unit. Would like to see us land another guard type in this class with two decent tackle prospects.
