Tate still at Michigan?
I know this is one of many Tate posts now but I no longer see Tate's name on the student directory for Michigan. Hopefully, this was not asked already as I did not read through the 240+ comments on the previous Tate post. Any rumors on him no longer being at Michigan?

I take it you are a student?
December 30th, 2010 at 10:50 PM ^
Many of the other players are in the directory.
December 30th, 2010 at 10:09 PM ^
If he were no longer a student, they would have removed his name from the roster. He's still there.
December 30th, 2010 at 10:11 PM ^
Per Angelique's Twitter:
"Two sources told me Forcier has flown back to Ann Arbor. His permanent status w the team remains unclear.."
December 30th, 2010 at 10:11 PM ^
Uh oh, Denard's not in there either! We're screwed! ;)
December 30th, 2010 at 10:14 PM ^
Denard actually is....
http://directory.umich.edu/dirsvcs-bin/search?search_text=Denard+Robinson
December 30th, 2010 at 10:16 PM ^
Guess I should've searched for his whole name. He didn't come up for just "Denard".
December 30th, 2010 at 10:17 PM ^
Denard X. Robinson. How cool is that?!
December 30th, 2010 at 10:22 PM ^
You gave a link to the entire directory. I just typed in my current favorite player, a mustachioed gentleman, and got his email, phone, cell phone, and address. Mods, can we get rid of this?
I know there are lots of students here, but I don't think MGoBlog should publish it.
December 30th, 2010 at 10:27 PM ^
It's not hard to access the directory. It's right on the UMich homepage.
If you are worried about your friend, you maybe should ask him to hide some of his info.
December 30th, 2010 at 10:29 PM ^
I don't know any of them, it just seems like it's inviting stupidity. I know you aren't doing it to let peoples' info out.
December 30th, 2010 at 10:54 PM ^
Like he said, it's a public directory. He's not giving access to a student access only directory.
December 31st, 2010 at 1:40 AM ^
At least it's better than MSU.
In their directory, without the student's permission, it publishes their home address and phone number which could be a cell # if that's what the student uses
December 30th, 2010 at 10:27 PM ^
Seconded, this seems like a bad idea.
December 30th, 2010 at 10:29 PM ^
I agree with Zone Left and why this information can be on a public site - especially one run by a public university - is incredibly stupid. This information should be kept confidential and not available to even students.
December 30th, 2010 at 10:32 PM ^
You have the ability to edit your information on the student directory, and even make your entry unsearchable.
This is nothing new.
December 30th, 2010 at 10:52 PM ^
Yes, but a lot of students (probably the large majority) have no idea that their info is out there. You have to edit it to make your contact info private. That's backwards.
December 30th, 2010 at 10:55 PM ^
That is simply not true. Everyone knows about the directory.
December 30th, 2010 at 11:42 PM ^
every school that awards Title IV financial aid has to send a notice to every student enrolled that tells them what information the school considers "directory information" and how the student can restrict access to that information. It's in those emails we all got in college and immediately deleted without reading.
December 30th, 2010 at 10:56 PM ^
Which is exactly my point. That is ass backwards. If you want your information public you can make it so. Otherwise the information should be private.
December 30th, 2010 at 10:58 PM ^
Really? I remember learning about it in orientation in the late 90s. We had to add our favorite drink. I believe mine is still on there. You'd think with students allowed to choose their own uniqnames (I was told this is the case) they would have been taught even more about the system than we were.
December 30th, 2010 at 11:37 PM ^
Exactly. We were all well informed of the online directory, and we all tinkered with it quite a bit. The privacy rules changed halfway through my time in school, and we all tinkered with it again. You cannot argue with a straight face that the large majority of students don't know about it.
Hell, it's even printed in book form, when I was in school they were stacked in the dorm lobbies for the taking.
December 30th, 2010 at 11:47 PM ^
How else were you supposed to stalk the girls you met at a drunken party before facebook was invented? The print version of the freshman facebook only gets you so far. Only half the students even had cell phones and nobody was going to take a pen and paper out with them. Calling up the wrong Sarah Whateverthehellhernamewas to figure out which one was the girl you made out with at a random frat party was a rite of passage.

When the "Directory" was a little phone book they published every year.
December 31st, 2010 at 12:30 AM ^
I'm pretty sure it's still published. I was in a prof's office last school year and saw a 2009-10 UM directory on his desk.
December 30th, 2010 at 10:32 PM ^
Most schools have an online directory. We don't need to refrain from posting a link. It has been available to the world for many years.
December 30th, 2010 at 10:32 PM ^
Does this mean we can't link to www.umich.edu anymore? The directory is on the front page. I believe students now have the option of deleting your name from the directory. In my day, we could at least delete our address and phone number.
December 30th, 2010 at 10:37 PM ^
Fair enough. I'm not trying to attack anyone, I just wouldn't want my info out there. I forget that 19 year olds think a little differently about privacy than I do.
December 30th, 2010 at 11:05 PM ^
There are options to make your information private. They just don't advertise these options.
December 30th, 2010 at 11:38 PM ^
Simply not true. It's quite well known you can edit your directory info.
December 30th, 2010 at 11:42 PM ^
correct - I am in there as an alum and knew I could edit it from the start
December 30th, 2010 at 11:06 PM ^
At first glance, I thought his email was "denardd."
December 30th, 2010 at 11:38 PM ^
that I just took a "walk" through Denard's neighborhood on Google Maps streetview?
December 31st, 2010 at 12:31 AM ^
Denard would have a Kinesiology major...he is, after all, a track star.
December 30th, 2010 at 10:11 PM ^
Robert Forcier?
That's his name, you know.
December 30th, 2010 at 10:25 PM ^
The article on yahoo quotes him as saying that he needed to pass 14 credits and was taking 16 credits just in case. Perhaps they now have some easy two credit classes but in the past they were usually much harder to do well in (geology of national parks was actually pretty challenging). Otherwise, I'm not sure how he might pass half of the class if he was taking 4 for four credits. It's a bit odd that he's out of the directory completely at this time.
http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/news?slug=ap-michigan-forcier
Either way, Denard will be fine.
December 30th, 2010 at 10:11 PM ^
1. Did you search Robert Forcier? 2. There are a ton of people not in it, like me!
December 30th, 2010 at 10:12 PM ^
Nice double board post.

December 30th, 2010 at 10:15 PM ^
It's all a conspiracy by the freep. Remember that long, positive Q&A article they did of him? It was all a set up so this shit could happen, and the freep could unleash hell about something else regarding the football program.
December 30th, 2010 at 10:16 PM ^
This is diary material.

D-Rod burned Devin Gardner's redshirt to teach tate a lesson.
December 30th, 2010 at 11:58 PM ^
Wow that shirt he has on is Amurrica-tastic.
December 30th, 2010 at 10:21 PM ^
he is on his way to another school. I hope I am wrong./
December 30th, 2010 at 10:28 PM ^
RR- Tate gone
<br>JH - Tate stays
December 30th, 2010 at 10:58 PM ^
If you were Tate, and had a Heisman-caliber QB in front of you of the same class, and a QB that for a time was ahead of you on the depth chart, what would you do?
I don't hold it against players that transfer for arguably genuine football reasons. Tate has the talent to start somewhere else, and I would expect him to put that talent to use.
It's a "problem" of success for RichRod.
