I've been brining / curing some brisket.  I let it desalinate on Thursday, let it sit in a rub for 2 days in the refrigerator, and am slow cooking it (230 F) for about 5 hours today.  End product will be a Katz's-esque pastrami reuben, with melted swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and russian dressing on rye.  

Being a college student, it was damn near impossible to smoke the brisket like they do at Kat'z, so I figured the next best alternative would be to slow cook it, then maybe sear it on all sides to blacken it some.  Should be good. 

Drink wise?  Too hungover to think about that rn.  Went to LJ's on Michigan ave yesterday, and Vicente's downtown - they have excellent food and capirinhas.  Get a Cuban at Vicente's if you get the chance... they'll even put avocado on it for you if thou dost hath desire.

Homemade Buffalo wings and Balcones single malt (lemonade for the kids).

HIgh end hot dogs, beer, and carrot sticks.  Long weekend and I don't have the energy for making a big meal.  I will saute some sweet onions for the dogs. 

Pizza pizza!

I worked til 4 today so i'm just going with pizza.  On another note, i don't care about the 6 hours of pregame coverage so i'm watching the Phoenix Open.   What in the hell was Puma thinking with Ricky Fowler's new high top golf shoes???   I wonder if fans of his will complain on message boards about his uniformz..   Seriously though, those shoes are ugly.

Made some buffalo chicken dip that can out great. Gonna wash it down with some Red Hook Long Hammer IPA. Never tried it before, but I can't name an IPA I haven't liked...

Sidenote: I just love when all the talking heads of the sports world look like idiots. Practically every national pundit I've listened to on the radio or TV this week were completely overlooking the Broncos - more specifically their defense. FUCK THE PANTHERS and FUCK the dumb ass talking heads. GO BRONCOS! (can you tell i live out here?)
