when he was coaching the Redskins.  I live in the DC area and he always had something funny to say whether he was trying to be funny or not.

“I’ve not heard that — you’re the first one that’s told me that,” he said. “But he’s not afraid to do things different, I’ll give him that. I wasn’t afraid to do some things differently as well. But he follows the rules." Got to love the final sentence of this quote by Spurrier about Harbaugh.

“He’s creating some noise, as they say. You do that and maybe the recruits want to come play for you. I think he’s an excellent recruiter. And that has proven out, so look for Michigan to become one of the best teams in the country in the future.”

Maybe they want to come and play for you? I think that might be precisely the reason - at least in part - in the case of Jim Harbaugh.

I do like his optimism on this though - and coming from someone who is famous for having a different perspective on things, if you will, I would take it.

You do realize, don't you they both would, intentionally use every trick known or introduced that day by  one of them, to absolutely guarantee a win, as long as it was withing the rules of golf. It not mentioned directly, it would be interpreted as legal. And Fucking Harbaugh  would be the first golfer that I have ever seen bring The Rules of Golf. Something even he wouldn't  read, but it's preasence would indicate, "No matter what you try, it ain't getting past me."

Those competitive asses would jingle their pocket change while your standing over your putt, ready to take that abbreviated back swing. Telling you, those two competitive sons of bitches would, and not even feel bad, do everything they could to distract you from the game.

But once you got past that, guess would all be good. The storytelling would be nothing short of amazing.

and then beat his five straight times.

When he resigned at South Carolina on Wednesday he was standing of the field watching Michigan play in Ann Arbor.  He was doing a network deal but stayed and watched the game vs. going back and watching SC.
