Spring Game Parking Restrictions
The "are you going" thread reminded me that Ann Arbor is trying to steal a buck from your pocket by restricting parking like it's a game day tomorrow, so I don't want any fellow MGoBloggers to come from a nice day at the Stadium to find themselves with a ticket...or a towed car. And Ann Arbor is notoriously bad for not putting up any signs, and doing this anyway, so watch where you park-

Restrict parking == No parking?
I would have guess you'd need a neighborhood permit to park there (like the places west of the Stadium have) but I used to live on McKinley and NEVER saw anything like that there. And the comments in the aritcle say residents got ticketed because they didn't know about it last year. So I'd say the safe thing is don't park there.
What is the closest free parking lot? I'd be willing to walk at least 30 minutes. On google maps I see a CVS Pharmacy and Salvation Army east of S State St. but I'm not sure if there is a limit on parking there. Maybe the Colonial Lanes Bowling Center?
For every basketball game, I park at the Indoor Track and Tennis building. I'd have to imagine it would have a few spots available there if the lots around the Crisler itself are filled up. That or you could always just park on Pauline.
I'll try that if I get there early. About Pauline, is there a parking lot by Allmendinger Park or do you just park on the side?
thanks again
On Pauline, it's all parking on the side of the road. It's not going to be nearly as busy as football Saturdays, but you have get there pretty early to find a spot closer (or as close) to the stadium than Allmendinger Park.
open for fan parking on Sat. as on game days? Like the garage on Thompson over by West Quad or the Business school garage?
Whenever my parents came down for gamedays or what have you, I told them to avoid Central Campus like the plague. So they'd park up near the School of Music and then bus down with me to the stadium. Guaranteed free parking, little hassle, and easy to get out of as well.
Of course, I wouldn't really recommend that to anyone not familiar with North Campus, as it'd be ridiculously easy to get lost.
Woohoo I just got accepted to Michigan! I can finally speak from experience when I say "It's great to be a Michigan Wolverine!" Hopefully I can make it over to the game tomorrow to celebrate. LSA '17!
