Spring Game - Looking Forward
I don't know how many people are/will be attending the spring game (I know I'll be there), however whether you are or aren't, what are you looking most forward to seeing in the game?
Player development? New schemes? Overall improvement?
I know that I will be looking to see how the defense plays. I can't believe we're on our 3rd coordinator in 4 years. Hopefully we just get some consistency and the D plays up to its potential.
Also it should be interesting to see Tate and Cone taking reps.
I want to see the new helmets and the maize jerseys.
...a night game right?
....to being in the best stadium in the country and watching winged helmets. They can fence for all I care. I just want to sing "The Victors" and have that feeling of excitement again after 2008.
I'm going, and I'm excited. I've managed to a get a bunch of friends together to drag out, too, although I think they're mostly excited because for them it's an excuse to have a few drinks on a Saturday morning.
Does anyone follow RichRod on Facebook? He's got a running list of who is playing in the alumni flag football game and there is supposed to be a 'big announcement' this afternoon of someone on the National Championship team. Sir Charles? Griese? Anthony Thomas? Don't care cause you will be tailgating during the alumni game?
I saw that Ali Haji Sheikh will be there. THAT is awesome.
And I hope everyone gives Coach Mo a big ovation. His teams were offensive dynamos. I really enjoyed putting 62 on Houston and 50 plus on Iowa.
The announcement will hopefully be Sword Swett Steele.

Another MGoBlue video. Rod is happy with how spring practices have gone. Martell Webb continues to garner praise; really want to see what things this kid will do during spring game. Nice clips of Forcier making some strong, accurate throws on rollouts.
Did you see Tate juke Brandon Graham? WOHOOO!
In Graham's defense, he's not allowed to hit Tate, so he might have pulled up a bit.
That said, WOOOHOOO!
...2008, and I know depth is questionable in certain areas, and I know we've had a lot of D-Coordinators, but there is a lot of talent on the roster and that will show up this summer. Combine that with progress this spring and competent QB play, just competent, and better turnover ratio, and I think we should be more optimistic about 2009 than we're all allowing ourselves to be. I think the season will be a pleasant surprise and I cannot wait.
....having just watched the video, Tate is unquestionably already better than what we had on the field last year. He made a few fine throws.
Yes, from the videos it looks like Tate is a step up from any of our options last year in all aspects of QBing. He makes crisp throws, and he can take off and run without telegraphing it. And it's not just the speed he has, but Tate is shifty, which can get you an extra 5 yards as a QB.
Plus he's just as fast as Denard, which is a big plus.
In light of last week's track and field results I would have to say that your last sentence is blatantly untrue.
...is severely malfunctioning.
Dude, running has nothing to do with your speed. Ask McFarlin.
This link keeps taking me to the Stadium Renovation video. I also can't find it on the site. Anybody have this problem too or know what I should do?
Has anyone heard anything about the rosters for the spring game? It will be interesting to see who is on which squad.
The player that was announced to play in the alumni game today was Anthony Thomas, as was Brandent Englemon.
I was planning on being there, but then along came...
The Wedding Shower
Part III Here's what I don't get: they have three wedding showers to shower this woman with gifts from women she barely knows, who will all be served expensive food that they will barely touch because half of all conversations in that fucking room are something to the tune of "oh, I couldn't possibly eat something that rich -- gotta watch my weight." Then, once each gift has been photographed and meticulously categorized, the men are supposed to show up unseen (yet still dressed up) to schlep gifts, most of which we will never, ever, use (let alone know what it's called). The best explanation I have been given for this rite of passage is that it gives a chance for the bride-to-be to get all the gifts that she wants. Well, look in the registry; do you see any big-screen TVs? Is there a PS3 in there? How about a terrabyte external hard drive? NO? Why not? Because the groom doesn't get to pick any gifts. Where was I? Oh, yes. The powers that be have commanded that I don clothing considered "business casual" and schlep gifts on the day of Michigan's Spring Game. You all enjoy yourselves for me, and if you value your lives and your Saturdays, I implore ye, stay as far away from the League as you can on that day, or else I will find you and you....will.....schlep!to set a precedent and blow that gotdamn thing off. Seriously. The sooner she tastes the bitter disappointment of not having her beau around on game day, the better.
You'll thank me later...
When you're divored.
no kidding, if you are nice to her now you will always have to give up things like this in the future. I am a dickhead to my wife and in turn she is a dickhead to me. It makes our marriage stronger because there is no resentment over things the other would not allow the first to do. Not trying to stick my nose where it doesn't go but give up this stuff now and you may have a hard time getting it in the future. If you must ask no I did not go to my wife's wedding shower.
Looking forward to seeing the real spread with Tate/Feagin, etc.
I can't go to the game (too far away) but the thing I am looking for the most is what kind of a rhythm the team finds. Everyone was so out of place and unfamiliar last year that just to see people working like they know what to do will be an improvement.
