It's likely that if Houston had been down only three, they would have been playing for field goal range first to end the game and Keenum might not have thrown the game-ending interception.

It didn't all come down to the bad PAT, Pitt gave away a 21 point lead. Both teams were sloppy at times (trading INTs with under a minute left in the second quarter, Pike with 3 picks, both teams airing it out with reckless abandon for a few ugly jump balls) but Pitt had plenty of chances to run away with the game.
The final score makes it look like that PAT was huge, but it wouldn't have mattered if they didn't let Cincy back into the game.

Pitt's ST problems went beyond that. They gave up several big kick returns.

Yeah that's a terrible way to lose. I can't believe Dion Lewis had 47 carries and 5 receptions. That's 52 touches for those of you who are too lazy to do the math. Insane!

It looked liked the missed XP would cost Cinci down 38-30, but it went the other way. Feel bad for Lewis and co.

And to continue the string of missed extra points, Bama just missed theirs. I wonder how this will affect the outcome of that game.
