Special Teams

Submitted by TheOracle6 on

I know it was windy today in the Big House but the Special Teams (minus the FG block) looked pretty shaky.  Anyone else worried about this going forward? Fumbled punt, Missed FG, and a shanked XP had me worrying a little bit. You never know when a game comes down to an FG or a punt that needs to be fielded.

I was super nervous after the first kickoff fell at the 25, but after that I felt fine.  Hopefully Odoms takes over punt receiving and we don't suffer any more muffs.  Letting that first punt bounce and forcing our offense to open from the 4 was a big mistake as well.  Nothing too horrible to worry about before going to ND though.

Just stop worrying about stuff until Monday please. It was windy. We were playing a quality team. We still won. We are 1-0.

Enjoy the victory. Smile. You don't need to find reasons to be worried the night of a win, do you?

I am enjoying the victory very much.  It is right to be concerned about something that was a valid issue this afternoon.  I believe we will get it turned around.  However we have been muffing punts for years now, so I think i'm okay to worry about something that.

Watching gallon try to field that punt, the wind had a major hand in him missing it.   The wind probably blew that thing 30 some ft to the left and he had to run a lot more than he should of which made it pretty difficult.  Probably hard to tell on TV.  In the stadium i got wind burn on my face
