Josh Uche is also inactive today for the Patriots

This is a surprise if he’s a healthy inactive.

Chase is leading the Pats in tackles and Big Mike O got in as an extra tight end. 350 lbs of tight end, making some space.

This is not OT. We’re talking DPJ
September 13th, 2020 at 12:11 PM ^
There is no T this year
September 13th, 2020 at 11:44 AM ^
Higgins has cemented the #3, and DPJ still has not picked up the install. The Browns like him, and think they got a steal, he will most likely play next week against the Bengals and would not be surprised to see him in the 2 deep, the rest of the season.

Rookies didn't have any preseason games this year. Probably much harder to learn the offense and be ready

The Cleveland Browns apologize and will be sure to consult Mgoblog on all future roster decisions instead of relying on highly paid professionals to make those assessments.

It's the Browns, it certainly couldn't hurt!
September 13th, 2020 at 12:12 PM ^
Oh shit this guy is right. Pack up the forum boys, we're all done here.
September 13th, 2020 at 12:15 PM ^
Professionals in name and salary, not in capability. Let's be honest here - it's the Browns.
September 13th, 2020 at 12:55 PM ^
To be honest, could the Browns be worse if they just handed over general management duties to a blog?
September 13th, 2020 at 12:04 PM ^
Bro, it’s his first game. Only 46 players get to dress and the Browns don’t need to dress every WR they have.

Okay cool

We've had a couple straight years of our guys making the jump to the NFL too soon. DPJ, Uche, Gentry, Long ect. I understand the money is enticing but leaving early to become a 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th round pick is short sighted. In recent history and outside of Bush and Gary we haven't had an early declare that wouldn't have benefited from an additional year in college. Sometimes I feel like some of our guys have a false sense of who they are in terms of their abilities. Especially when I'm watching Clemson last night and guys like Etienne are coming back for an additional year.
September 13th, 2020 at 12:56 PM ^
I would contend that Uche and Long were fine to leave early. I agree with you on the others though.
September 13th, 2020 at 1:39 PM ^
I never understand this take. For most of the guys you mentioned the difference in their first contract due to sticking around a year is most likely nominal. Especially since our philosophy discourages stat building. After that they're either talented enough to get a good second contract or they're not.

ect, ect, etc.

Natson is the primary kick returner. Hodge is an important part of special teams. DPJ did not distinguish himself in practices, it is going to take him some time to get the system down.
September 13th, 2020 at 4:50 PM ^
Simply not true. All reports from camp did nothing but praise DPJ. Puzzling move, even more so after performance of browns receiving corps today. Look for DPJ to be on the field Thirsday.

This is an atrocious affront! Someone notify the Town Elders and initiate a blue ribbon fact-finding commission!!!
September 13th, 2020 at 3:16 PM ^
Burn all clowns at the stake!!!!
September 13th, 2020 at 1:16 PM ^
Browns fan here.
Natson did not get cut because the team didn't feel DPJ was ready for punt/kickoff duty (whereas Natson is quite good at that and is his specialty, basically). Hodge is a special teams guy as well.
This isn't the issue you think it is, OP.
September 13th, 2020 at 3:17 PM ^
So so sorry for you.
September 13th, 2020 at 1:45 PM ^
I'm not surprised. He's probably still learning the offense. I'm sure he'll see the field this year, just not today.
