Sophomore Robert Nkemdiche
Just wanted to throw this name out there: Robert Nkemdiche.
Does anybody know if we have this kid on our radar? Check out the link I attached below. I think the "eye test" comparison to Julius Peppers is relevant. This guy has the potential to be the #1 recruit in his class.
We are going to put together a solid competitive team this year, which will build awesome momentum going into 2012. In 2012 our schedule is going to be real tough w/neutral Alabama (Hello D. Hart), @Nebraska, @ND, @tSIO. However, the 2012 national spotlight with our current coaching staff will be monumental in recruiting!
Quite frankly (if i may Stephen A.), I'm really looking at this season as a building block/learning & adjustment period to prepare for 2012. That doesn't mean they won't compete and win games, I'm simply implying I'm glad we put the new coaching staff in place this year and not for 2012.

You and rivals both just wanted to throw it out there

You're implying what? Yes, I did get the Info from ESPN, not rivals...hence why I attached a link. Funny?...Guess I don't understand the neg bomb when I'm just posting content, which by the way has not been posted thus far on this Blog. Listen, there are tons of people who post content based off something they just read. The whole point is to share the content, with your own spin. Am I missing something? Please share your rules and regulations on posting content with links on blogs… And yes, throwing a name out there is to generate a buzz or conversation about a potential recruit that should be on our radar. And your comment about going after Sophomores too early and only focusing on Juniors is wide of the mark. If that is true, why is Alabama, Ohio State, Auburn, Georgia etc…pursuing him???
Man, it's like people on here just wait for somebody to post something so they can put them down. It's a Blog! Stop putting people down and being so negative.

You're too sensitive if you consider -3 to be a "negbomb"
Who cares? You don't even lose points for a downvote, and points are meaningless.

for us to be looking too closely at Sophomores. Recruiting of current HS Juniors just got into full swing not too long ago.
If he's really that good, then I trust the coaching staff to evaluate/offer/etc. when the time is right.

Hoke and co have offered 4 class of 2013 recruits so far.
http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Dymonte-Thomas-117956
http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-E.J.-Levenberry%20Jr.-104478
http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-Keyante-Green-1…
and then Shane Morris.
2 RBs and a LB.
The EJ Levenberry kid has a very impressive offer list already.
Keyante Green? 5'8" 185? Is RR still influencing recruiting?

On a serious note, many of my Hokie friends here in VA are already talking big about this kid.

Good thing you are not the Recruiting Coordinator, IMO it is not "far to early" to let a kid know you're interested as long as it is within the framework of the rules.

I mean, this kid sounds like a rock star. But, hes 16.

But isn't he a Sophomore? Hmmmm

Establishing a good relationship at an early age is pretty important.

It's never too early to start touching kids.
I took a quick look at the article during lunch. I didn't read it in it's entirety so I wouldn't comment too much on what was said. The kid by all accounts sounds like a stud though. And I also thought that someone should post this. I can't since I don't have enough points yet. I think you would've beat me to it anyways. Good call on your part.

Not even Stephen A.

To answer your question, yes he is on our radar but sadly he is also on ohio's (that's for you Brady). Long way to go in that recruitment though so we'll have plenty of time to see how that plays out.

Have we offered? He said the only school he would like an offer from that hasn't already offered is Oregon. I don't know what our chances are but it sounds like the kid is ready for college right now. Either that or his coaches are related to Fred Jackson.

Agree with you. A lot of folks on this board think they are holy & made out of gold & can't be touched. Always negging on folks for whatever reason. Not going to please everyone on mgoblog.com about what the rules of posting are and what needs to be posted or not.
Remember, that is why you can always get back at someone that dogs you out. They can post negative comments, but you can reply right back.
The kid goes to Grayson, which was one the rival schools for my H.S. (South Gwinnett). I may make it down to one of their games to check him out. On another note Gwinnett County pumps out tons of athletic talent from all sports (Backus, David Greene, Francouer, Brian McCann, Al-Farroq, etc.), and this kid is definitely playing at the highest level in Georgia.
It would seem to me that UGA would have an early lead with him, Athens is maybe 20 minutes down the road from his school.
EJ Levenberry's verbal offer came from Coach Tony Dews. Coach Dews is now at Pitt. There has been no contact from Coach Hoke or any member of his staff.
