Softball beats MSU 3-0, Betsa records 13 Ks, Romero lays out MSU player
The story of today was not the stellar Michigan bats, but rather the stellar ace in Maize in Blue in the circle.
It was a scoreless game until the top of the 5th inning when Michigan loaded the bases on two singles and a walk.
Michigan took a 1-0 lead on a fielder's choice by Abby Ramirez. Si-Lo was walked to load the bases once again and then Romero reached on an error, scoring another run.
A wild pitch made it 3-0 Michigan and that was that for the scoring.
In the 6th inning, Romero made a play at 1st base to get the runner out. She was not wise to test Romero, and paid for it. Check this out-

Betsa pitched a full seven innings, gave up only two hits and had 13 strikeouts.
Michigan is now 30-4 and 8-2 in the B1G. They'll face OSU in a weekend series next with the first game coming on Friday at Alumni Field at 6pm.
13K's...what an abuse of the strikeout system
And Betsa showed great control!
Is Wisky really that good?
Not a no hitter?
will undoubtely be the seasons most important. Wisc beating Minnesota twice was huge because Minny has a really easy B10 schedule this year . They dont play Michigan so they had a pretty easy path to the reg season title but that all changed...Must sweep Ohio State! Im glad we are at home. Betsa had a great game although a somewhat shaky first inning. With Betsa you better get to her early otherwise your toast.
I felt like today we were kinda going through the motions against a team we should beat and easily. Betsa came through big time..
Minnesota still has to face Nebraska three times. That's not easy.
Illinois is not terrible. Northwestern beat Minnesota already. And Iowa has their number from last year.
They have a much more difficult conference draw than we do.

I wouldn't say their's is harder than ours...
They miss Ohio State and Penn State who both have strong records right now and we had to play Nebraska and Northwestern as well.
Ohio State is definitely better than Illinois or Iowa and Minnesota misses them

PSU is a joke. Their record is bloated due to playing MSU and Rutgers.
osu has lost to every good team they've played. They have also played no one in conference play.

They played Wisconsin, who just swept Minnesota.
How is it possible to tie in college softball?
I.e., the one who allegedly drilled the player who criticized the team on the record? Does anyone here know how that story shook out?
I heard Dantonio inquired about her having any eligibility left to play football (potential future starter)
I guess there wasn't enough evidence and they kept both coaches.
They kept their coach that literally went winless in B1G play a couple years ago.
Rutgers is rubbing off on everyone.
Awesome title WD.
It's a shame that a sparty assistant coach got in the way on the replay. That would've been an outstanding photo to screenshot and frame.
Like this one from 2013-
do you have these images saved and organized on your computer or do you search and know where to find?
Can't wait until football physically abuses spartina again.

At this point should we start Driesenga and have Betsa grtting fired up in the bullpen? She seems so fragile against good teams in the opening innings. This team mages me so nervous for a team everyone on the outside easily considers a top 3 team...but I think so do the other top 5 teams. It's a weird year
