SIAP: Harbaugh touts team's APR award; credits Hoke

This is from a couple of weeks ago, but I didn't see it posted here. Nice of Harbaugh to give a shout out to Hoke for this and not take any credit himself.

Proud of the work Our Team and Coach Hoke's staff did to earn this recognition. pic.twitter.com/xvFW8TUpZn

I think there was something posted about it but that seems like forever ago. Maybe I read it on his twitter. Sources are all starting to run together.

Hoke did the most important thing a college coach can do, which is to make sure the kids took care of their grades off the field.

If that was THE most important thing a college coach can do, he would still be employed. The most important part of a college coaches job is to win football games, education and player safety is probably a close second.

of things right, as Hackett acknowledged. I wish more Michigan fans would be as honest and respectful as Harbaugh when it comes to giving him his due. He couldn't get to the top of the ladder but Harbaugh starts on a higher rung.

I have always given Hoke what I feel is his "due."  I still think that most of his problems were caused by AD meddling.  Hoke was the epitome of "taking the high road" and "falling on the sword for his boss."

I doubt that most of his critics would conduct themselves with as much class as Hoke has ever since the day he figured out his "dream job" wasn't really his dream job at all, but a position as David Brandon's sock puppet and scapegoat.

The things Hoke could control, such as making his players attend class and study, he did great.

As for the Morris incident, Hoke looked like a coach who had been ordered to play Morris, "give him a chance" and "don't take him out at the first sign of trouble."  I think the micromanagement and "direction" from the AD got so bad that Hoke ended up in the "not my circus, not my monkeys" mode for most of last season.

As I've said often here, I don't think Hoke was or is nearly as bad a coach as it appeared under DB.  I hope he enjoys his buyout money; he earned it.
