Shoutout to the FANS - Appreciation Thread
Michigan fans showed up and showed OUT!
You couldn't tell (other than the crowd noise) because the seats were blue, Iowa has gold and their rally towels were also gold.
But it's safe to say that in a 42-3 game, Iowa fans weren't sticking around for the trophy presentation. The stands were 75% FULL during entire thing, Michigan fans everywhere. It was insane. No one left.
Overall record attendance numbers for the championship game and the B1G folks said they've never seen that many people from one team take over the stadium (granted, OSU/Northwestern in 2018 was close...but the Buckeyes had a little fatigue and they didn't sell out the game).
Anyway, congrats to every fan. That crowd was SPECIAL. Definitely impacted the game as well.
We have to travel to for the semifinals!

Thank you! Indy Matt and I brought a lot of energy to section 641!

Place was rocking. Iowa brought some noise too but it didn’t really matter. We showed up as a fan base and it meant a lot to the players. Need to bring the pain at the next game and continue the presence

I absolutely loved it when they played Mr. Brightside at Lucas Oil and you could hear it on TV especially when they cut out the song and the crowd is singing the chorus!

I was hoping they would do that.

I feel like the last 7 days have seen the re-birth of Michigan nation. If you look back at where this fan base was after the Indiana game last year, man, it's like we came back from the dead.
The intensity, the hype, the passion..I don't think I've seen it at this level in Michigan fans before in the 20+ years of watching Michigan football.

Michigan nation has never been close knit, I'd even say it never really existed. Not like this. We've always been individuals, to good to sing, to good to stand, to good to high five a complete stranger. Its been amazing to see it evolve.

I beg to differ. As Murder Wolf would say "I (we) have always been here." Some of us have been a little quiet, true. But, I've spent many a game, in the Big House and elsewhere, high fiving strangers and/or singing; "It's great, to be, a Michigan Wolverine..." We're are here and will always be here.

It's like the greatest fanbase in the country... only better.
I pulled out my #16 jersey after Michigan State thinking Denard's smile would bring good vibes. It will not be washed and will continue to be worn the rest of the way.
You're Welcome!

You sir, are now king.

Funny when they booed Archie Griffen presenting the MVP trophy to Hutchinson. At least he accepted it gracefully, not like Connor Cook who just snapped it away from him and elbowed him of of the way.

I was there!
It was real! And it was spectacular!
See you in Miami or Dallas!
Go Blue!

Gus: "This song by the Killers. It's been Michigan's song all year. And they sure enough were killers the last two weeks of this season."

Shoutout to everyone at the Jug tonight. Although we were not at INDY we shared something we will remember forever!

Anyone have suggestions on best/cheapest options to send a Big Ten Champs T to Manchester UK?

Find someone in the US willing to buy the t-shirts and then ship them to you. I'd volunteer but I'm currently out of the country.

Tonight was the greatest football night of my life!! GO BLUE!! I can finally say it HAIL HARBAUGH!!

I felt like the crowd collectively did our best, but the atmosphere wasn’t half as special as last week in Ann Arbor. Typical B1G mix of overproduction and commercialization; during one of the innumerable commercial breaks, there was a “Velveeta Drip Cam,” whatever that is.
All of the things that we complain about w.r.t. sterile neutral-site games in NFL stadia? They were on full display.
I’m old-school enough to think the Big Ten should drop a few members and get rid of the title game, but since that’ll never happen, it’d be nice if they could host it on campus. I suspect if this game were Iowa @ Michigan, instead of Iowa vs. Michigan, they could have sold a few more than 67,000 seats…

Agreed. Cincinnati played their championship game at home and thats the way to go. Higher rank team gets it at home.
I like to think that the current stall in the future of the playoffs is because the north (BIG) and west (PAC12) are holding out for home games. This is the way. So sick of playing down south for the national games.

I read that this was the 2nd biggest crowd ever at Lucas Oil, 2nd only to one of the Super Bowls.

So the Buckeye slappies sold their tickets after all?
December 5th, 2021 at 8:53 PM ^
That’s a negative. There were 3 bucknut fans in front of me in section 511. They were fully decked out in scarlet and gray, actively cheering against Michigan and for Iowa. A few questions arise. One, why not sell your tickets and make a lot of money since, you know, your fucking team isn’t fucking playing? Two, why sit there for nearly the entire game when it’s clear the result you hoped to see isn’t fucking happening? And three, do you really hate Michigan that much and have nothing better to do? It was sad, infuriating and funny all at the same time. When they finally left, all I said was “Hope you enjoyed it.” I can say with 100% certainty that I would never attend an Ohio St game in Michigan gear to cheer against them. I live in Indy, it’s not like I haven’t had chances!

I think we're going to go to that game no matter where it is. We may even hit the nest egg to get some good seats. YOLO.

I got back to Kalamazoo at 4:05 this morning and lost my voice . Totally worth it.
