Share Your Hot Takes for the Coming Season

With the football season quickly approaching, along with the pressers from yesterday, I would love to hear the hot takes this board might have for the coming season.  The general sentiment is that this has the chance to be a special season if things fall into place, but what are some things you specifically think will happen that would require performances on either end of the good season/bad season spectrum?

My hot takes are as follows:

- DPJ will break the single season receiving yard record currently held by Jeremy Gallon (1,373 yards)

- Shea breaks the single season Passing TD record currently shared by Grbac and Henne (25). This isn't very outlandish, but I think any single season record breaking performance should be included.

- If this season ends with a trip to the CFP, Don Brown will take a head coaching position somewhere after the season.

What are some of your Hot Takes for the coming football season?

I think folks somehow think that a "hot take" means a "prediction".

Stop it.

It's like the Alanis Morissette song, "ironic"... nothing she says in that song by definition is "ironic".

One regular season loss....and it's a fluke or questionable call type game.

We beat OSU, MSU, and ND.

We win the BigTen.

We get to the playoff and get knocked out in the semis...but it's a close game.

Shea gets injured in the first third of the season and Dylan steps in. He never looks back.

The D is better than last year. Daxton doesn't play as much as people expect. However, he's electric on special teams.

Tru Wilson proves everyone wrong. Although his workload is shared more as the season goes on.

We lose a ton of players early to the NFL.

11-1 regular season, win B1G title vs Purdue, lose CFP vs Clemson in a 40-17 type game.

12-2 total, losses at Indiana and against Clemson.

So the hot take is that we lose to Indiana

We lose a game early in the season, but finally beat Ohio State.

The freshman show out in the new offense two of the three DPJ, Black, or Collins leaves for NFL.

Shea is a steal in the 2nd round of NFL draft.

UM will be a defensive liability this year. Brown and his defense will be lit up like a Christmas tree in some games. Offense will bail out defense this year.

Michigans OL shows up as road graders by the Army game. Van Sumerian develops into the best receiver back of the group. Black stays healthy and develops YAC with several ankle breakers throughout the season. After injuries to the DL Mazi Smith has his redshirt burned and rises to become the leading pass rusher by season end. Don Brown reloads again, proving true to his coaching and recruiting skills. DMac is injured again and Milton shines as number two playing parts of the 4qtr in several games. Michigan wins a close one against State and wins out going into the OSU game. Fields gets picked twice and gives up a scoop and score. Michigan wins going away. Loses to Clemson in the CFP Championship game. Go Blue!

Michigan will go 9-3 in the regular season, including a loss to OSU, and lose the bowl game to a lower-ranked team. Large portion of the fanbase, and many big athletic department donors, call for Harbaugh to be fired. 2020 recruiting class hit with wave of decommitments by top recruits.

Lions go 3-13, break the NFL record for most sacks allowed in a season (currently 104) and Patricia is fired.

Harbaugh resigns after bowl game, is hired the following week by the Lions.
