Semi OT: My cadet daughter raised the flag Saturday

Submitted by 608Monroe on November 28th, 2021 at 8:49 PM

Debated sharing this, but thought it too cool not to post.  My daughter, a junior in UM Engineering, is also an Air Force ROTC cadet and had the privilege to be part of the Color Guard raising the flag at The Game.

Not a bad day, Saturday.  I get to storm the field after an epic Michigan win. And my daughter raises and salutes our flag in front of 111,000 people.

Go Blue.  Beat Iowa.

Why the debate? This is fantastic! Thank her for her service.

It's moments like this that make sports wonderful. I spent the day with my mom and you got to see your daughter raise the American flag in Michigan Stadium

That is cool! Was she involved in lowering the colors as well? I couldn't help but notice the flag was being lowered as the camera panned on the mass of humanity on the football field. That was a memorable experience!

Congratulations to her - what an honor!  Thank you to her for her service and to you for sharing this story.  You should be very proud.  I was at the game with my son, who is a high school senior and considering ROTC as he considers what college to attend. I will share this story with him as well.

Tell that lovely daughter of yours that everyone on this side of the neighborhood are all proud of her!

And did you realize that it was 3,651 days since you and I rushed the field the last time? The photo came up in my online "memories."
