Semi OT Clayton Richard traded to the Cubs
Some of you might remember Clayton as Chad Henne's back up in 2004. He played in a few games that year before dropping football for baseball. Would have been interesting to see how he developed as a QB if baseball hadn't been an option for him.
I've randomly followed his career since then because he grew up near me. Luckily for my baseball stats, he didn't start high school until the year after I graduated. I did get to see him play a few times, and I always thought it was interesting that he was good enough to play both football and baseball at Michigan.
I don't think it's semi OT at all since he's a former Michigan Football & Baseball player.
He was actually in the Elite 11 as a QB in high school. Got some playing time in the 2004 season opener against Miami University when Chad was struggling a bit but was pulled for Chad soon after.

I remember him playing against Miami 2004. He was a lefty and it was weird seeing one QB Michigan.
I am still pissed at Demetrius Brown for deciding not to go to class anymore just as he was starting to look like he would realize his potential at QB.

Of course, he also threw 7 picks in a single game vs MSU...
As for baseball, Richard's been mostly an innings eater -- not that that's terrible in the big picture of things. He's been very effective this year at Triple-A, but his weakness -- an inability to miss bats -- showed. While he's demonstrating great control, he's striking out less than five batters per nine innings.
