Saw him right before the game talking to some people. Anyhow he looked stoked to even be there. When I saw him I thought instantly he is going to commit to this school. Question on him though? What is his listed height? He did not look 6'0 tall at all. Maybe it was the backwards san diego chargers hat though.

In Forcier and Beaver, we have two very different styles of QBs, both of whom fit the system.  I'm not a fan of the 2 QB system, but at the very least it provides RRod some strategic options.

I'm not worried about his height - for instance, how tall is Pat White?  Chase Daniel?  Most of the QBs who were underrated by the pundits - like Daniel, Sam Bradford, and Colt McCoy - have height issues.  It might have been an issue in our old offense, but it shouldn't be much of an issue in our new offense.

Tate - welcome to Michigan.  We're glad to have you.

  1. Height is not always,"needed," but it's not a bad thing to have either. You would be hard pressed to argue that height is not needed as I would be to say height is always needed. When you ascend from one level to the next you want as many attributes or feathers in your cap that you can get. For instance when you watch high school tape of your fav. schools recruit eating up yardage you have to remind yourself, the kids in college have been lifting weights for 3-4 more years and are equal the athletic talent. high schools kids range in ages of 16-18 and are not developed. All the tall 6-5 QB saviour recruits have left Michigan(including Newsome and Pryor).
  2. And as Michigan fans you cannot pin your hopes for this season or next on high school seniors. The future is now.
  3. You could tell though when you saw him(Forcier) that he wanted Michigan. He seems geeked about the whole thing. Which is WAYYYY more important for Michigan at this point that stats or height.

From his ESPN profile, he's listed at 6'1", and I think that's an overstatement.  He's *NOT* 6'3".

Forcier is listed at 6'1" by Scout and 6'0" by Rivals.  I'd bet their heights are within an inch of each other.
