SB vs Indiana Open Thread

Submitted by MGoSoftball on

The SB Team is hosting Indiana today for 2 games.  Tomorrow's game is being pulled ahead because the weather tomorrow does not look good.

We took the Hoosiers to the wood shed yesterday with a 10-run 2nd inning.  This was enroute to a 11-2 Mercy-Rule win.

Haylie is in the circle for game 1.   We are batting in the bottom of the 2nd in a scoreless game.

Do you know if the RPI takes into account anything like semi-road games and semi-home games (a distinction KenPom makes, for example)?  Or does it follow the same formula as basketball, which is a simple 25% record, 50% opponents' records, and 25% opponents' opponents' records?

While the game UM played against ASU in California is noted as a neutral site game, I think many would agree that is closer to a home game for ASU than a neutral game, due to the time zone change and proximity to ASU's home campus vs. Ann Arbor.  I think there's a pretty significant difference between, say, the neutral site game that was in California between UF and UM, and the one referred to above.

I have no idea, but it's worth noting that Michigan is likely to have more fans at just about any neutral site game against anyone (outside of the WCWS). There were far more Michgan fans than ASU fans at that California game.

Maybe if Betsa wasn't pitching so well she would get the chance. Numbers don't lie - 26.2 more innings, lower ERA, lower opposing batting average, same amount of runs given up, less earned runs given up.

Regardless, I agree about her game yesterday. Great performance, she jammed a ton of batters and got good defensive support, especially from Monte at third.

in On base % with a whopping .660.  The #2 player is Nikki Stokes (NEB) at .548.  That is a full .100 points between the leader and the #2 player.  Amazing.......
