Saturday night drinking/summer memories thread

Submitted by sadeto on
Last night we were asked to revisit the worst jobs of our lives. It was pretty gruesome, a lot of us have suffered for the man. Tonight, let's recall our best summer memories. For me, having grown up on the Connecticut shoreline, it's dragnetting, surfcasting, and of course girls in bikinis. Remembering those great times while downing some Greenport Harbor Hopnami DIPA. You?

Doing nothing during the summer but waking up for football workouts, coming home and playing Halo, then going out all night and waking up again for football workouts.

Sweet bro, got some Hudl highlights?
I floated this by the rents in HS, they laughed and i got a job at a tent rental place in lansing. Awesome summers, much better than the football/lounging around would have been. Set me up with an in with guys at MSU, and voila! i was done with HS girls.

Drinking some summer shandy and smoking hookah by myself because I obviously must be an 18 year old girl. Lol but favorite summer memory probably isn't anything special but it would have to be about 3 years ago when me and my 2 buddies would have a fire literally every weekend and would just get hammered. Now we are all hitting that stage in our lives where we are moving out, getting real jobs, getting married, etc. I think that's why it is special to me because we won't ever get them times again.

as soon as barn chores are done.  t-bones, ribeyes, and some lamb steaks we butchered up special.  there are advantages to being your own butcher.

will be drinking red pop - some cheapo shiraz while bbq'ing.

hope you all had a great summer saturday.  productive day here, not quite done working, but soon...

Just opened a Bells Neptune. Probably a homebrew or two later.

As for a summer memory, they all just kind of blend together. There were a couple where it was just band practice, play shows, golf, swim, repeat. Those were good summers.

Probably my favorite of the planet series. There's a lot going on in this one. They added everything plus the kitchen sink. But it works. For me, the black pepper and hickory come out in the nose, then you get the spices, and the cayenne pepper leaves just a little tingle after you swallow. Enjoy it!

sure they require a ton of work, but the parents have the ability to train them up to be a pleasure to be around, fun, productive, respectful and with great attitudes.  that doesn't mean that every day is ginger bread houses, candy canes and unicorns, but no thing in life is more important (ask a parent in case you're not) or more fulfilling.

attitude is everything and you get to choose every day what attitude you want to have.  choose wisely.
