Winter ale from Fat Boy in Everett, WA was awful. I rarely pour beer down the drain but tonight I did. Recovering nicely with Dragon's Milk and a few tokes.
Winter Ale in June? What did you expect?
Some bottles in my stash are five and ten years old. Six months is nothing.
Burn Cottage Pinot Noir
I'm so suburban. I'm drinking Truly.
Spent the first day of my retirement from teaching trying to do ALL THE THINGS as we prepare to go on a 'vacation' to visit my mother-in-law.
Knocked back a few of Bell's No, Yeah this evening as a reward for getting so many things on my list accomplished, but heading to bed now as I'm tired as well as retired.
CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As Frank Constanza would say...
I'M BACK BABY!
I’m at the campground and made myself a Blue Bahama:
1 shot Skyy Vodka, 1 shot mango Bacardi, 1 shot Bombay Sapphire, 1 Shot Blue Curaçao, 1.5 shots Midoro, splash of sour mix and 6 oz of Sprite. Shake it up, pour it into a glass and nighty-night….
Are you gay (not that there’s anything wrong with that)?
I'm impressed that you had all of the necessary ingredients at the campground. If I'm camping there is no way I'm drinking anything that requires more than 2 ingredients plus ice.
Elysian Space Dust
Had a few Paulaner Grapefruit Radlers earlier. Perfect for hot days. Moved on to High Life now.
Cheers and happy weekend all!
Mates
Red pop?
A little Chardonnay with my wife after a nice long walk and then a bit of Fireball after a great pizza from Florentines in Grandville. If there’s any West Mich people on this board, they should try Florentines pizza. And no… I’m not an employee or relative of the owners. Just really, really good pizza.
White pop?
I got LIT last night, son--and put miles on my legs exploring different sites of decadence about town (it's Jazzfest time here!). Today, I did 2 backyard bbq things at friend's houses mildly hungover and had a total of 1 beer. I can't even remember what it was--it was an IPA but not too hoppy. Now, it's my couch, some loose leaf English Breakfast tea, European Cup soccer on tivo...and weed.
Working a 12 hour shift tonight so I'm drinking tears of unfathomable sadness
If you don't mind me asking, what general line of work are you in to be working a 12 on a Saturday night? Sounds brutal, my man.
I work in food manufacturing
I work Friday - Monday
12 hour shifts aren't bad when you're compensated as well as I am, plus anything over 8 is time and a half.
Because the MPs were shorthanded, too few for 8-hour shifts, I spent much of the Army on 12-hour shifts, 3 day, 3 nights, 3 off.
BTW, I didn't intend that as a complaint. Though the schedule played havoc with sleep patterns, it gave lots of open time off. 3 full-ish days free, plus a 3 1/2 day-weekend.
I'm holding a Scottsdale Blonde
I once knew a Scottsdale blonde. Good memories.
Let me guess: her name was Candy, and she was a stripper with a heart of gold?
Are there any true blondes in Scottsdale?
I am at my best friends son's birthday party. He is sharing his presents with us. Old Elk barrel pick, Calumet Farms, Willett Pot Still, Elijah Craig Small Batch and Glenfiddich 12.
Really impressed with the Old Elk??
Is the old elk a wheater? I passed on a barrel pick not long ago and now you're making me regret it.
Rock hill farms for me tonight.
Yes it is my friend. 118 proof flavor bomb ??. Seriously thinking about getting one as the store is not far from me. Loved the Rock Hill Farms you sent me last year. Wish I could find one up here....
I could get you a Old Elk if you want. Send me an email and I'll let you know what I find ?.
Cheers!!!
Drinking thread? Yes please.
Too busy working to drink. Questioning if the effort is worth it.
I now only drink unsweetened "Pure Leaf" ice tea as I abused my body way too many years !!!
This is after the fact but I had a Jolly Pumpkin beer last night, followed by an Old Fashioned at Hopcat while watching Sparty students get rained on waiting to get into the club haha. Not a bad evening.
