Sam Vecenie goes to bat for Juwan Howard

I don’t really love that folks have just kinda thrown out there that they think Juwan Howard wouldn’t be a good coach at Michigan. I kinda think very few people in the college basketball media world have the ability to make that determination at this stage.

Folks in the NBA speak highly on Howard as a basketball mind. He interviewed for 3 NBA head jobs this year (CLE, LAL, and MIN). He’s been a key defensive coach for a team that been, at least, top-9 in DEF RTG every year since 2015. He commands respect from elite players.

Sure, college basketball is a different game. Maybe that adjustment to recruiting and all the other university stuff would make him fail. But this isn’t Chris Mullin who hadn’t coached before. Howard has legit basketball coaching chops. Would like to see him spoken about that way

I'm confident in Howard's ability to coach a defense with or without Yak given that's what he did well in the NBA. The offensive changes will be intriguing.

Say what you will about 1201/Maizen - without him we're discussing gravy, which car you most hated as a teenager and counter tops.

You guys may hate him but he's doing more to keep this place interesting than anybody in MgoManagement is right now IMO.

What you want to do is take tweets from, at best, c-level basket ball celebs, post them on MGBLOG and watch the points roll in! Then, there is the headline of a news article with not link, followed by two more posts with the link, then link with commentary. Those are always nice.

But, in all seriousness, what does Michael Jordan think of Howard?

Or posts from actual people in the know and not a ton of posts that get bombed into oblivion because they are factually incorrect and usually devolve into him getting into fights with people.

I get that it's fun to see the hornet's nest kicked every once and a while, but I'd rather the board be a bit quieter and have actual content in it and not just a ton of tweets copied over to fit a narrative that Warde Manuel is a  terrible AD who should be fired into the sun.

Oh look, someone realized he was getting close to not being able to post more shit threads so he copy-pasted some positive notes.

Yes, it's almost like people who know basketball think Howard is a bit of a wildcard but certainly worth the effort and has the potential to be great.  Shocking, I know.
