I'm happy for Rich. He's a good coach and deserves success, even if he didn't have it here.
EDIT: Should have just let Denard say it:
Happy for COACH RICH ROD AND HIS STAFF

in the PAC Championship Game.
November 28th, 2014 at 7:49 PM ^
Just like the last couple times they played?
November 28th, 2014 at 8:02 PM ^
Put your money where your mouth is RR lover? Vegas agrees with me not you.
November 28th, 2014 at 8:09 PM ^
Who cares what Vegas thinks.. Look at the games played. I'm sure Vegas pick Oregon in the last 2 meetings.
November 28th, 2014 at 8:10 PM ^
I bet you good money you're unpleasant to share a long car ride with.
November 28th, 2014 at 8:18 PM ^
I avoid long car rides...take these new things called airplanes.

are so wise.

Coach
November 28th, 2014 at 8:18 PM ^
That's the metric that matters in this comparison. At least if you're going to let Vegas make your "argument".
November 28th, 2014 at 9:54 PM ^
This gets me every time......Vegas does not make predictions, they set the lines to get 50/50 action on each side and take the extra 5-10%. Q

Watch how a spread moves over time based on the bets being placed on the original in order to balance out the pool.

Great to see that the neanderthal fringe of the Michgan fanbase is still irrational. If a lot of, uh, "dominos" fall the right way, RR could end up in the playoff. The neanderthals probably don't have a lot to worry about, though.
When teams are remotely equal, it's tough enough to win the rematch. When one team "upsets" the other, it's almost impossible to win the rematch. It would be a monumental upset if Arizona beat Oregon twice in one season. Then again, Oregon is running an offense that RR invented, so one never knows.
November 28th, 2014 at 7:59 PM ^
Will they look worse than MSU? We know how bad their D is.
November 28th, 2014 at 8:01 PM ^
They have already beat Oregon this year.... Oh, they beat Oregon last year too. Do you even pay attention to fucking football?
November 28th, 2014 at 8:27 PM ^
Commie High 96 had already made that point.I was pointing out that Oregon can score even against a very good defense.
Thanks for the non sequitur.
November 28th, 2014 at 8:36 PM ^
You do realize who won between Arizona, and Oregon the last two years, Arizona did !!! You won't have to worry about that with Michigan they'll never get that far !!!
November 28th, 2014 at 11:22 PM ^
lol
bruuuuhhhhh.....
November 28th, 2014 at 6:58 PM ^
sigh
Good for him though
Anu Solomon and Nick Wilson look like a young Pat White and Steve Slaton. They have some play makers

Re-Hire Rich Rod. Screw the Bo/Lloyd old guard.

It really says something about how the last few years have gone, that a post like this is currently enjoying 15 upvotes to 5 down votes.

You are GROOT?
November 29th, 2014 at 3:05 AM ^
While that element may have complicated Rich's job Rich made his own choices alonh the way. Rich took over a program that had played in 3 of the prior 5 Rose Bowl d and decided he needed to blow it all up and build a program not realizing he had a fan base that had patience for a renovation. We expected to see new carpet and paint on walls while he was pouring concrete still.
Were we foolishly impatient? Perhaps but he didn't start as quickly as the underachieving coach he succeeded (MNC in year 3) and he his start couldn't even match the lamented closing years of Coach Carr, again 3 BCS bowl games in 5 years.
Rich did succeed in helping to establish mediocrity as the norm at Michigan so bringing in Brady was acceptable the last time we took a ride on the coaching carousel. Brady Hoke never should have been a serious candidate for this program but it seems it may have all been a dog and pony show before his hiring.
November 29th, 2014 at 6:35 AM ^
You should have talked more about impatience in your post. Michigan screwed up royally. Like they fired a top 5 coach type of screw up.
Rich was establishing a program in his style. He didn't have the players to run his system yet. He would have won at least 10 games in year 4 since he actually would have a few juniors on defense and offense. His teams were extremely young. He was forced to field very young teams because there was such little talent to begin with. Name some impact players that Michigan began with when RR was hired. I'll name many more talented players that RR started with at Arizona.
The cool thing is that, like Purplestuff and I said wayyyyy back when he was fired, RR will continue to win at other places and show how great of a coach he is. There will be excuses by people who claim it was a bad fit at Michigan but in reality they know little about football. Rodriguez is simply a stud coach that will win if given time and the ability to recruit. If RR can win at a perrenial losing school like Arizona without even completing his rebuild, he damn sure would be winning big time in this crappy B1G conference.
November 29th, 2014 at 8:32 AM ^
Then I will only speak for myself and say I was impatient with Rich. I was pissed that many were willing to run Coach Carr out of town because he didn't win another MNC or even another Rose Bowl. I was very impatient in getting to that top 5 level we believed Rich could bring so I pulled the plug on my support too quickly in hindsight. And now we have a mediocre B1G coach who is still demanding patience.
Like the saying goes never pray for patience because you can ount on receiving it.

Wish we had him 4 years ago.

He's won everywhere he's been except for Michigan. Maybe it wasn't the coach. Maybe it was Michigan.

is blasphemy! Michigan is the greatest institution ever! no faults!

You must be high on Drugs. Michigan showed it's true colors when they ran a great Coach out of town. You are getting exactly what you deserve. A loser coach, and a season that sucked !!!

He won everywhere he was at before coming to Michigan.
November 28th, 2014 at 7:05 PM ^
Do 34-38 and 13-12 qualify?
November 28th, 2014 at 7:12 PM ^
and the fact that he was only at SDSU for two years one could say that he won. He did go 12-2 at BSU--something that they haven't replicated since he left.
Look, I think Hoke has to be fired. I'm not defending the guy. But winning elsewhere is no guarantee of winning at another place.
Arizona is not Michigan. It doesn't have the same level of expectations. Coaching at both schools is a different experience.Arizona is more like WV than UM.
Boy, you Rodophiles are an intolerant bunch.Post something that contradicts your worldview and you spaz out.
November 28th, 2014 at 7:17 PM ^
You can also say that the failure to replicate that success at Ball State points to his failure to build for long term success. I fail to see how Hoke is a winning coach.

But he won at his previous stops nonetheless.

One good season at all three stops. He is college football version of Nickelback.

7-6 was a good season at BSU and 12-2 was considered great. 9-4 and 11-2 at SDSU and UM respectfully were good seasons. It's really depends on the time and place of the seasons.

What is a chair? Is it an object with a place to sit your ass and four legs? If that is your definition then how does that differ from a sofa? How about chairs with less than four legs?

November 29th, 2014 at 9:41 AM ^
Less than 4 legs would be a stool, right? But is that a chair? It doesn't have a back for support like a chair does.....this is a tough question, GROOT.
November 28th, 2014 at 11:54 PM ^

November 28th, 2014 at 9:46 PM ^
This comment implies that anything good has ever come from Nickleback. I don't agree with that.
November 28th, 2014 at 8:25 PM ^
RR - generally a consistent winner at multiple schools. Outlier, Michigan. Ergo, "bad".
Hoke - generally mediocre record at best, but has had a couple flash-in-the-pan good seasons? Ergo, a "winner"
Interesting.
November 28th, 2014 at 8:36 PM ^
This is getting hilarious now. People enjoy making assumptions out of a simple statement. I never evalauted anyone. I simply said that Hoke won at his previous stops which is true. I never said he was a winner.
November 28th, 2014 at 8:41 PM ^
He did technically win at his previous stops. 47 times. But he also lost 50. RR before and post Michigan is a wee bit better than that.
November 28th, 2014 at 9:35 PM ^
Why even bother with making that statement then? It adds nothing to the conversation to state he won in the past as I'm sure that's true of almost any coach in Div I history..I doubt anyone has ever gone winless in their career so what does saying he won, and leaving it at that, accomplish?
