I am guessing that with the entire "Michigan Man Mania" thing, all references to the RR era will be erased from history, sorta like it was done in the classic novel 1984.
I am actually all for it. Any use of RR's slogans would almost seem like they were a mockery. And a person who stood in the face of and responded to so much bullshit with so much class does not deserve to be mocked.
Let Hoke come up with his own witticisms and motivational ploys. Since we are "stuck" with Hoke for at least the next five years, I would really prefer to see him become his own man with his own system and his own motivational sayings and tactics. "Those who stay" is a classic part of Michigan lore and should remain so, but everything else should be scuttled and replaced with "Hoke-isms."
If Hoke is to be a success at Michigan, he won't do it by imitating Lloyd Carr. If Brady Hoke becomes LCII, it will really suck. Brady Hoke needs to become the best Brady Hoke he can be. It may even involve ruflling a few old school feathers, but Brady Hoke needs to make his own mark on this program and contribute to the evolution of Michigan football.
If he can do that, we might all someday laugh at the fear and uncertainty many of us feel right now. I don't know about anyone else here, but I really like to laugh.
