Risk Day 47 - Winter Is Coming (But Like For Real....Just FOUR Turns Left!)

Submitted by Michigan CFB R… on May 8th, 2020 at 11:34 AM

We have just FOUR turns left and we're at near peak drama....just like a well-written tv show. And like GoT, the ending will be abrupt and probably confusing.

Georgia Tech owns more than half of the territories in California, and Ohio State has reestablished itself as a threat. Additionally, Chaos is once again on our doorstep. In other words, we're entering the climatic scene for supremacy in the west. Meanwhile, Nebraska has gotten beat up by Wisconsin and TAMU and will have to figure out how to reunite its various territories across the USA (Important Note: ALL of Nebraska's move have been done in coordination with our moderators. They are GOOD allies. PLEASE do not attack them).

Not all is bleak, however. Texas has asserted itself in Texas, and it's also threatening both Ohio State and Georgia Tech. Meanwhile, you guys continue to make us the most powerful team in the game, allowing us to continue making gains in the northeast, even as we fight the Evil Empire back in the west. We also have both Alaska and Hawaii, which means we are uniquely positioned to push in both the west and the east.

All of this is to say that we are entering the final episode of Risk Round 2, and nobody knows what's going to happen. Protected territories are few and far between (other than for Wisconsin, which.....dark horse contender?), and the nature of RNG means that tomorrow's map could seal the victory for one of the remaining teams, or throw us into further chaos (pun NOT intended). And who knows how long Ohio State stays loyal to its puppets as it fights for the win? Many, many questions....very few answers as this point.

Now, with all of that in mind, we NEED your help to give us the best chance on winning this insanity. The MGoArmy has once again come out in full force this year, but we've plateaued in the mid 1,300's. I would really, really like to see us reach that 1,400 mark. Every single player, every single star could be the difference between victory and defeat.

As has been noted over and over again, it only takes a few clicks to get your assignment from MichiganCFBRisk.com and plug it into CollegeFootballRisk.com. There are just a few clicks left to be made in the ENTIRE game, so let's get to it and Go Blue!

Unfortunately, we don't have any way yet to get at Wisconsin.

That is a danger -- no way to attack the team with #2 in territories.

This is the most perplexing thing to me—that Nebraska has not invaded Wiscy at all. Or, at best, they have been completely shut out by RNG?

I'm sure I don't understand things, and like a good little soldier, I put in my assigned move every day. But the Husker-Badger (non)interaction is apparently above my pay grade to understand.

Wisconsin has a ton of protected territories and so its really hard to invade them as they can fairly efficiently space out their power and defend their territory, it's a good strategy.  I find it interesting that Wisconsin and Texas A&M seem to be concentrating on knocking Nebraska out and a good strategy for them(although if A&M can handle Texas roaring back in Texas may be an open question, the A&M/Texas rivalry may be even more stupid and petty than our rivalry with Michigan St.).

Each team has a home territory that is named after them.  Even if the team is eliminated, the territory is still in play.  Take another look at the map on collegefootballrisk.com and your assignment will make more sense.

Also - can you edit your post to remove your assignment...?  This is an open website and we don't want to give away any info to our rivals...

Wisconsin has had it so easy. Just sitting back in cruise control, picking on Nebraska, ohio state not bothering them. How tf do they have so many territories with so little participation.
