Risk Day 38 - Mom, Dad...Get Our Room Ready Cause We're Coming Home!

Submitted by Michigan CFB R… on April 29th, 2020 at 11:50 AM

We had another very good night last night. We managed to shrink GT's presence in the west, Chaos is no longer an immediate threat, we maintained our presence in Texas, and we grabbed a couple key territories in the northeast. The most exciting development, though? Grabbing Toledo and Notre Dame. Why are those territories important? Well, in case the title didn't give it away, it's because they put us on the doorstep of home sweet home. That's right, we're headed for Ann Arbor! While we hadn't prioritized the Mitten, a couple fortuitous rolls last night have given us an opportunity we didn't anticipate, and that's to liberate the Big House from Badger rule.

For too long, the Big House has been under Badger control. While that was acceptable early on in the game when we were friends with Wisconsin, they have since aligned themselves with the Evil Empire (i.e. the Buckeye Puppet Pals). Thus, they must be evicted from our homeland and sent back to the Land of Cheese (though I wouldn't object if they left a few samples behind).

Eviction is easier said than done, though. Wisconsin has a lot of star power and they will do everything they can to hold onto Ann Arbor / Zingerman's. Therefore, we ask you to rise to this important occasion and give us the lift we need to retake the motherland. We lost a couple players last night, and while we were saved by good RNG, our luck won't last forever. We need those numbers back up! So keep recruiting. Keep playing. And keep playing CONSISTENTLY!

That is a beautiful map.  Our goal now should be to defend the territories we have while continuing a slow expansion for the rest of the game.  Looking at the numbers on the leaderboard:

- TAMU seems to be giving up.  They're losing players by the hundreds.  They aren't as much of a threat as they used to be.

- OSU has a measly 14 territories!  Grind them to dust for the rest of the game!

- GT still has to contend with Chaos at their northern borders and us on the back end.  They have much fewer players than us so I think we can slowly push them out of the southern end of Florida via Hawaii.

Overall things are looking great!  Obviously important to continue the war effort every day for the next 12 days!  As long as we defend what we have and slowly expand we're golden from this point on!

The strategy makers behind the scenes most certainly keep doing a good job, I have to say, however, that the macro strategy here on MGoBlog has won the day, to date. The push to get early participation and spread the board is paying off, and now our numbers and star power are lending too much weight across too many territories to compete with.

Finally hit 4-star status. Got off to a bit of a late start this year.

And there's something more satisfying about getting orders to attack rather than defend. Solving problems through aggression!

Getting a MVP is basically luck. One player from the winning team of each territory is randomly selected as the MVP on that territory for the day.

Earning a r/CFB award is not easy unless you are a current (or former, I think) collegiate football player, coach, referee or member of the media. Absent one of those, you need to either make a material edit to one of the r/CFB pages or contribute to a r/CFB fundraiser. There don't appear to be any active fundraisers.

funny you saying that for the 10th time or so.  inspiring.

aren't you one of the leaders when it comes to "only 234 more days to football season' non-stop threads?   if i've mis-remembered that, please accept my apologies.
