Risk Day 22 - Boom! There's That #MichiganDifference!
Last night we saw a surge in participation from you guys. By the end of last year, we were seeing 900-1,100 registered participants per night. It seemed like we weren't going to be able to recapture that magic....and then last night happened. You guys showed up, and showed up BIG, with 897 registered moves by 11 PM.
So what happens now? Well, it's once again a matter of perseverance. The map looks OK. Not great, but OK. However, we have a lot of options and are in position to take control of the game if we keep this momentum. Just by giving a quick look at the map (I don't have any insider knowledge! Don't worry!), we can (1) continue to disrupt OSU's hold in the Northeast; (2) try to eliminate Oklahoma / pressure TAM (they are allies); (3) keep trying to consolidate our hold in the West; (4) eliminate Stanford; (5) push OSU back off of Washington; and/or (6) ???.
Now, the key with all these options is that they each require a decent amount of manpower. That means that the more you guys keep participating / recruiting, the more options we can take. We now know that y'all can show up in huge numbers, so there's no excuse to not keep doing it. Let's keep pushing and show the rest of the CFBRisk world what the #MichiganDifference is all about! Go Blue!
Also...........GT took SDSU. That was an accident (just like us taking Hawaii). DO NOT MESS WITH Georgia Tech! Not only is it bad strategy from a diplomacy standpoint, but it's a waste of power. If you don't want to take an order, that's fine. But mess with OSU or something.

The Michigan Difference is the best difference, and everybody knows it. It's a very, very big difference, huge really, big big difference. I'm rich, don't need the Michigan difference, but it's a tremendous difference, all the best people are saying it. The Michigan difference is perfect, a perfect job, just tremendous - you know it, I know it, everybody knows it. It's a big, perfect, tremendous difference, really, a huge difference.

Presumably rogues. Which is frustrating, because it's a complete waste of power. Maybe if those guys had been on Nevada, we could have knocked Stanford off the west coast. It would've increased our odds on that territory by 5%.

It seems like gt and bama are allies by the way they don't attack each other along a defined common border. Same goes for tamu and bama to a degree. Are we allies with bama too? And if we are then why don't they attack tamu?
The alliances constantly shift, but as an FYI....GT is neutral. They don't have any natural enemies in the game, and aren't eager to make new ones. So they won't attack us, but they also won't attack OSU or TAM.

I think, once you've chosen a team, you're on that team for the season. The reason that you're seeing the choices you're seeing is that you're a fan of a team whose territory was controlled by Michigan yesterday and is controlled by OSU today.

I like options 3, 4, and 5. Stanford needs to die a horrible gruesome death immediately. They've been a thorn in our side for too many turns now. Then we can consolidate and focus on conquering the rest of the west while still keeping our small foothold in the midwest.
If we can do that then we can execute a classic pincer maneuver on OSU via Alaska. Wonderful!

Hey guys, Great job! Keep up the good work! Invariably OSU and TAMU will have a jump again in participation tonight (seems like that's how it goes) so please log your move daily.
Imagine you have one spoon of peanut butter left and you are trying to spread it on 5 different pieces of bread.
I just joined today after being really agitated and annoyed about the Christopher/Todd news and wanting to beat SOMEBODY in SOMETHING besides my 7-year old in Super Smash Brothers.
To me, it makes the most sense to attack Stanford and knock them out and take more control of the West. But what do I know?
I was given the task of attacking Akron, and I have that selected right now. However, I have questions:
(1) The turn ends in about 9 hours from now. Can you change your move up until that time? I have Akron selected now, but can I change that if I wanted to?
(2) Are there ever tasks to just "defend" a territory or are we just pretty much attacking?
You can change it up to the time of the roll, but please stick with your assignment that you received from the site! We have carefully determined how many stars go to each territory. There are assignments to defend territories. For example, we have been defending Arizona State (ouch) for many turns now as Texas A&M has been attacking us very heavily there.

Also, try not to announce your assignment. It doesn't help anybody and one of our enemies could gain intel on our strategy.
