RIP Former UM WR Dr. Rodney Feaster

Submitted by PSALM 23 Rod N… on
While celebrating St.Patrick's Day in downtown Flint, I ran into Dr. Rodney Feaster's cousin who informed me that Dr. Feaster had passed away. (News outlets in Flint are also confirming) Rodney Feaster was a standout WR at FLINT SOUTHWESTERN. He was a great man and skilled Dentist. He was also an active UM Alumn. Last year at a pep rally prior to OSU, Rick Leach was introducing speaker John Wangler, when Dr. Feaster arrived and was walking across the room. Leach spotted Feaster across the middle and had a UM v OSU Flashback of a towchdown Feaster scored against OSU. RIP RODNEY http://www.wnem.com/news/22865146/detail.html

What the heck...anybody have details? RIP Dr. Feaster; I went to Southwestern, graduated in '81, so he was there when I was. I view life as this long road we all travel, all of us of one age walking around the same area with those older than us ahead, those younger behind. He isn't the first of my generation that I knew of that has passed; the road is beginning to thin out...

What a shame to lose two great Southwestern athletes in Rodney Feaster and Booker Moore. I graduated in 78 and was blessed to see both play. Incredible athletes and terrific people. Southwestern used to rule the sports scene when those 2 were there. Great rivalries between Flint Powers, Central, Northern and Northwestern, made Flint one of the sports hotbeds in Michigan in the 70's and early 80's. My only regret was that Booker never went to UM. They will be missed none the less.

Just.today came across the name "Feaster" and googled Rodney's name.

Then I saw the MGoBoard link from 2010, and when I clicked on it found out I could still reply.

Anyway, I did not know he had passed away back in 2010.  RIP, Rodney.
