RichRod can't succeed at Michigan (Turn Sarcasm Meter to 11)

Submitted by BiSB on
The team is in turmoil, but more importantly, the fanbase is fractured and unenthusiastic about the new regime. Rodriguez isn't a "Michigan Man", and the Michigan faithful simply haven't gotten behind him. They probably never will... Oh. I see. Next? (But seriously... IMHE, it's time to put the focus on the MSM/bluehairs/Newspaper-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named to bed for a while. It's Notre Dame week.)

I just wonder how many of those people were Rich Rod supporters before the team looked so good Saturday. I think it just goes to show that if you win, they love you.

I just do not understand how some people 'want' RR to fail. RR wasn't my first choice to take over for Lloyd (I was in the Les Miles mafia), but the second he was hired I was all for him and embraced him as the new Michigan head coach. People need to get over the petty differences and loyalties they have and embrace this coaching staff. Anyways, that was an awesome sight and sound hearing the fans chant RR's name in support. EDIT: I got the sarcasm. I know my post may not look like I did though.

I was also against the RR hire when I heard of it, but it's not like I'm going to root against him and the team so he gets fired. That would take a first class loser. Not that there are actually people out there like that...... Now that he's our coach, I don't want to see anything but winning and never have. Unfortunately it took a little while longer than anyone (anyone sensible) wanted, but hopefully this keeps up and all his detractors go back to burying their heads in the ground.

For me that was probably the most special moment of the game. I have spent plenty of time defending Rodriguez and it was great to see how many other M fans are together on that one. It almost made me write a diary about the all in for Michigan motto, how it is corny and yet entirely appropriate for this year. Then I realized there will be like, 100 new diary posts, so I held off. But yeah, great stuff.

everyone started chanting 'Rich Rodriguez!!!'and then there was tremendous fanfare and applause that grew to a crescendo and you looked up at the scoreboard and it read something like this: 0 31 -------------------- rush 2 146 pass 26 145 tot. 28 291 and it seemed like some Judgement of approval that all faith was not in vain...glorious... edit: it won't show up lined up properly, you get the idea...

Sarcasm + internet = trouble, even though it's more fun to not add the disclaimer. Even real life sarcasm can be trouble, if you don't emote enough. You really have to go over the top online. Would it be more sarcastic to turn the sarcasm meter to 1? Or am I overthinking this?

I have to admit that when I saw the headlines last week, I thought "RichRod, we hardly knew ye." I thought the vast "they" were going to succeed in running him out of town. I thought he might not finish the season. But to see that fan sentiment and even national/overall sentiment is in favor of RR, and then for him to come out and the team look good on Saturday - it really makes me think things are going to be ok. That beng said it does all come down to WIN GAMES but it seems there could be an upside this season. Who knows? GO BLUE!
