Ehh, it seemed like it was a rushed production because it was exactly that. Team wins Monday, they have a parade and celebration on Saturday. The city itself had to OK a bunch of stuff in that short time, the players - many already out the door or won to be - had to be brought on board, some had to speak while others didn't, tickets have to be made available and sold, etc. It came across like an event planned in 5-6 days.

Still, I don't think it's that serious. It's about fun so just have fun watching it. They aren't there to sell you something and it's not a prep rally for a big game, it's a celebration for the game they won. I thought it was nice.

We also enjoyed watching it.  It got better when the announcers decided they didn’t need to talk over what was happening as if it were the Rose Bowl parade.  I also wonder what we missed during the commercial break.  However, I am glad the Big Ten network made an effort to show this even though they already had another sporting event scheduled. As others have mentioned, it was very amusing that OSU had to see their hockey game preempted by this reminder of our football dominance.

Yeah, I have to kinda agree.  I love Devin Gardner, but all he and his co-host did was talk over the introductions.  I kept wanting them to shut up so I could just listen to what was going on.

There were a couple times the camera was just pointed down at the ground - wtf?

Regardless, so proud of this team and it was nice seeing them get the recognition they deserve.

Why were the so many empty seats behind where the players were sitting?  It also seems like a lot of players didn’t come or at least didn’t walk out when their name was called.

I was literally shouting at the TV: SHUT UP AND LET THESE GUYS HAVE THEIR MOMENT!!

Especially the guys that put in as much work as anybody, but don't get the recognition of the stars.  They talked right over them like they did not exist.

They do exist and they matter to us.

I felt bad for them and their parents to be dismissed like that.

Thanks for posting!

One thing that made me laugh; the chyron on the BTN feed saying that the regularly scheduled OSU/ND hockey game had been bumped until the end of the ceremony. I was imagining those fanbases, many of whom have no doubt been trying to avoid college sports since Monday turning on the tv and tuning into THAT

Thanks for posting this. I didn't know about the broadcast before I had to leave to babysit my graddaughters (who are too small to watch). So I'm glad I was able to watch this morning.

Yes, it's unfortunate that the announcers talked over the payer intros (Devin, what were you thinking in taking the spotlight from the team), but the player's speeches were fabulous. And we all learned (or re-learned) a little Shakespeare from the coach.

Every player who spoke was poised and polished, and also funny. Jim started out pretty slow because he was reading a speech as opposed to going off cuff, which he's better at. But then he brings it home by quoting the "St. Crispian's Day" speech from Henry the 5th by heart, and with a bit of theatricality to it. I'm not the sentimental type but it gave me chills.
