So what is your point?  Is this a post just to say all the bad things that might ever happen?  You do know that you or I could die in a car accident on the way home from work, right?  Want to talk about that too?

You aren't a very happy person, are you?

The following scenario has played out 3 times this year- scout/rivals post story along the lines of 'is ___ solid?', recruit makes statement saying he's solid, we all breath a sigh of relief, recruit magically decommits. I'm not sure if it was like that wiith Fera because I don't really remember him saying he was solid after the stories started popping up. That would bring the number to 4. This is making me very paranoid that Shavodrick Beaver is going to decommit any second now.

What about the positives?

Jelani Jenkins, Rueben Randle, Eugene Smith, Dre Kirkpatrick, Donavan Tate....all top notch recruits that have M listed as in the running.  We could end up having a stellar class yet.  Remember, RichRod pulled off some late magic last year on signing day.

I remember Will Campbell, Kevin Newsome, and Bryce McNeal making the same sorta statements. Remember that heartwarming story you read about Newsome and McNeal at some camp talking smack to USC commits about how they were going to beat them in the Rose Bowl one day or something? Or how they were trying to convince guys to come to Michigan? Anyway, I guess the former could happen cause Penn State and Minnesota could always play USC in the Rose Bowl.

would Beaver decommit? He is a low 4 star to rivals and is not being seriously recruited to  play QB at any other major school. He will be by far (including Tate Forcier) our best runner at QB which gives  him a great chance to beat out Threet and Forcier in a year or two and be the man at Michigan with Rod at the healm. That sounds like his best possible scenario and I can't imagine him getting a better shot anywhere else. He COULD do anything but it doesn't make sense, and I agree with most of the other commenters that its pointless to worry about it anyway.

Relax! Remeber your dealing with 17-18 year old young men who have people consantly in their ear. Michigan will be fine in the long run...once again, patience is the key.

Beaver publicly said he was still with Michigan?  Well we have nothing to worry about!

"I'm committed to Michigan," Newsome said. "Me and Bryce McNeal were going around bragging how we're going to beat Randall Carroll, who's going to USC, Cierre Wood, who's going to Notre Dame. We were bragging about things like that." Newsome said he really hit it off with McNeal. "It was great to be around a guy that's going to be a future teammate hopefully," he said. "He's a great guy. Bryce is a good, good guy. He's one of my boys now. We're going to really stay in touch."

Remember Newsome said this well after rumors started swirling about him leaving.

The biggest point I can take away from your post MechE is that regardless of what is written in articles ro said by these guys, we really have no way of knowing.  So any and all of the guys who are committed to us right now could bail.  That means that all the guys currently committed elsewhere could, in all likelihood, decommit and go any number of places, Michigan included.  Because, as you stated above, all this information is unreliable, let's just go with what we know, and we can all postpone our heart attacks by not getting too worked up over who might be the next guy to decommit.
