RBCC: Ron Gould
In one of these RBCC threads, someone brought up the name of Ron Gould.
WHO: Running Back coach for Cal between 1997-2012, Running Game coordinator and Associate head coach at Cal from 2011-2012. Head Coach of UC Davis from 2013-2016. Will turn 52 years old in September
WHY: Played a part in coaching an insanely impressive list of running backs. This includes Marshawn Lynch, CJ Anderson, Justin Forsett, Shane Vereen, Jahvid Best. Experience as a running game coordinator. Has a lot of connections with the California recruiting base.
WHY NOT: Never has left the West Coast. HC stint at UC Davis was not impressive.

For chistsakes, it's just a running backs coach. All this speculation is mindless junk food.

I'd rather make a high school coach an analyst and then hire an experienced position coach.

I just want to point out someting about his career. Prior to being hired to coach RBs at Cal, he played DB in college and coached DBs at Portland St and Boise St. This was back when Boise was still I-AA, FCS in today's terms.. Never coached offense and never coached FBS level.
