I'm not sure about his recruiting prowess but his coaching ability and his ability to get the most about of his talent is awesome. I'd love to see how he would develop Evans, Samuels, Walker and Higdon. Sometimes I felt that Wheatley chose the wrong back. Evans should have had at least 75 more carries last season (IMO)...

Although I agree that I would have liked to see more Evans, especially in certain games in which he was clearly moving the ball in a way Smith could not, you have to imagine that his blocking was just not up to par. He's pretty slight and a freshman. If he got significantly more carries than he had, that means you're either hanging Speight out to take big hits or tipping your run/pass hand pretty bad.

This is the type of guy Michigan needs -- and has needed for a decade+.  If you can find and develop excellent running backs at Indiana, you can find them anywhere.  And give him the Michigan brand to recruit behind, and I'm sure he'd be fine.

Hell, if the 10th assistant legislation passes as expected you could hire both McCullough and Wilcher.

That one was stupid. Lance Anderson was the only realistic candidate.

That was people trying to be funny...all 3 of these RBCC's make perfect sense.

Of course RBCC: Les Miles, Fred Jackson, Chip Kelly, John Gruden, John Harbaugh, and Jack Harbaugh are all on the way. That's when you'll know "it's happening"

I've been watching his career for a few years now. He was B1G assistant of the year in 14 and Indiana never has a problem running the ball...

I mentioned him in the Mike Hart post and when the Wilcher post went up I figured I may as well start one for the guy I'd like to see as our next RB coach...

I believe this guy was nominated for RB coach of the year.

Lance Taylor at Stanford would be another nice hire, but he has no connection to Harbaugh.

Does Jamie Morris have any coaching experience or desires? Chris Howard? I have no idea. Wondering about former player options.

I think any qualified former M running back is worthy of a look. If they have all the requisite skills, the added bonus of being an alumni is the cherry on top.

I'm not saying only look into M backs or pursue M backs that have no interest or experience.

Is Brandon Minor qualified? ;)

Any chance JH goes the Partridge route and promotes either Bam Richarson or Devin Busch Sr. to this coaching  position. I'm not sure what their background is as far as what positions they have coached.

This guy has churned out some really solid tailbacks at Indiana. Seems like Deland has a solid eye for RB talent. Also seems like a guy that could be a great recruiter at a big time college.
