Random stat: Michigan has a losing record against only 2 FBS teams (min. 5 games)
For no apparent reason, I was perusing the Michigan page on Winsipedia today and noticed that we have an all-time losing record (min. 5 games) against only two FBS teams: Alabama (2-3) and USC (4-6).
I think every other team has more, but I didn't check everyone. Looking just at the teams that are up in the stratosphere with us for all-time winning percentage (>.700), they've each got 5 such teams except for USC, which has 3:
Ohio State 5: Alabama, Clemson, Stanford, USC, and of course us (GO BLUE!)
Alabama 5: Louisiana Tech, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Texas, and TCU
Notre Dame 5: Clemson, Florida State, Nebraska, Ohio State, and of course us (GO BLUE!)
Oklahoma 5: Clemson, Miami, Notre Dame, Texas, and USC
USC 3: Alabama, Notre Dame, and TCU
Texas 5: Notre Dame, Penn State, UCLA, USC, and Vanderbilt
I like our chances of evening the score against USC, maybe even starting this year. And once they have to start playing us here, we can start to balance out their home-field advantage in the series--they have only ever played in Ann Arbor once.

Alabama will never play us in a situation where our programs are on equal footing and most certainly not in a home and home situation. They are pusses.
USC has the more respectable record against us of the two. Once they are in the Big 10 though, it will be over for them in regards to a winning record just as it has been with Penn State.

Plus with conference expansion, there are just going to be fewer non-conference games to schedule. I’d love to do a home-and-home with Bama, but it will never happen.

You never know. They have a home and home scheduled with Wisconsin.

Louisiana Tech?
That's funny.

That's with the help of a forfeit in 1993--Alabama shellacked them but had to forfeit all their wins that season. But they played Louisiana Tech twice after that (1997 and 1999) and Louisiana Tech won both of those!

USC will be evened up when they join the Big Ten.

We should have won that last game against Alabama... has a lead into the 4th (or late 3rd?) and just collapsed.

I sincerely hope to see USC playing in Ann Arbor, Madison & Iowa City in mid Novembers. See how they do.

I feel like this is one of those "be careful what you wish for" scenarios. I'm truly excited to add them to the conference, though. Great program that plays an exciting brand of football.

If I’m not mistaken, TCU is one of the few FBS teams we have never played. Could be a nice first time experience in Glendale
