Questions about first Michigan Lacrosse game on 2/12

Submitted by Wolverine Devotee on

Time is ticking down before the moment we have been waiting for many years: Michigan's first lacrosse game as an official NCAA program. First off, I have a few questions about it:

The game is on February 12th at 1pm at Ultimate Soccer Arenas in Pontiac,MI in a neutral site game. I have heard though that the game is at the Arenas, but it's in All-American Lacrosse?

Has anyone been to this place before? From what I am getting from this description, I guess All-American Lacrosse is an arena INSIDE Ultimate Soccer Arenas? I have no clue so help on this would be appreciated and also, how much are and where can I buy the tickets at?

For those interested, the ticket marketing office has released a cool schedule poster of "Team One". If you want one, just request one by emailing your address to athletics-marketing@umich.edu

I got mine in the mail yesterday and I love it. Who knows, it could worth a ton someday if Michigan has as much success in the NCAA as they did at the club level.

i play lacrosse there all the time, all american lacrosse is a league that is run from someone else that is my neighbor. Ultimate soccer gives All American field rental and all that crap, so basically they have used it alot. Ultimate soccer has 2 Large fields, and one smaller field in the middle. They game will be played on one of the larger fields with stadiumish seating. I'm pretty positive Ed, the all american guy, is just presenting the game. Tickets are 12 dollars and i dont know where you can purchase them, try http://www.all-americanlacrosse.com/

Hope this helps

Hey Devotee, really sorry to hijack this post but I don't have enough to make a post myself, and was hoping someone would post it. It's been reported by Tom Beaver (from scout.com) that Glenville highschool Willie Henry (#38 DT) is on an official visit to Michigan this weekend, and could be a suprise commit.

On a side note, do you know if lacrosse games will ever be aired on the B1G Network?

The link is paywalled but here it is : http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=162&f=1088&t=8633312

Probably the game on 2/18 at penn state will be aired since it's two B1G schools and the B1G likes showing when teams in the conference play in non-B1G sponsored sports.

I'm 99% sure that the game at Michigan Stadium on Football Spring Game Day against ohio will be aired live. BTN has aired the past two spring games. Plus, BTN did the doubleheader last year when ohio played fairfield and then had their spring football game.

Other than that, there could be a possibility of the game against north carolina or rutgers to be on ESPNU or CBS Sports since Michigan is a new team and those are respected programs.

Really hoping to get a student section/group involved, as it's my senior year. I posted that on the facebook page a while back and just got an email from the Athletic Department a few days ago. THE head coach John Paul actually saw my post. Quite an honor. Really hoping I can get it started, especially being so soon.
