question about fan day

Submitted by sheepman on

I know there have been some posts about Fanday next week, but I am still a bit unclear about what there is to do.

Can we go on the field? Are there other things to do other than get autographs? The band play? Cheerleaders? Refreshments available?

I have a 4 year old and hope there is enough to do to bring him and hang around the Big House for a few hours.

You go on the field for player auto's but you have to go down thru the bowl, no tunnel. The staduim grounds are open to get around, the towers are not open. 4 year old, thats tough. this is the first year for my 8 year old after doing a spring game as a test run for time involved. good luck, you'll get better info from others. see you there.

Player are actually signing all along the outside of the stadium where concessions are sold during games. If you want to wait in line to meet the players, the line starts where the exits are in the stadium and go all the way down the ramps (you'll see them...believe me). They used to have the freshmen on the field to sign autographs, but I don't think they do that any longer. Hoke will either be on the field signing, or on the side of the concourse closest to Crisler. They should/better be coming out with the locations each position will be at.

You can also go on the field or walk around the stadium. The cheerleaders are usually down there. The tunnel used to be open, but it wasn't last year. It may have been becasue of the construction, so it may be open this year. I think it's worth going to. Even if you don't get autographs, going on the field is always fun.

will be on the field.  Offensive players north side and D on the south side.  It'll to be tough with a 4 year old as there isn't a lot to do (maybe it has changed as it's been awhile since one of these was held in the stadium).  When they had it on the practice field they had snow cones, cotton candy, and the cheerleaders walking around taking pictures.  You could also hit the Ohio tackling dummies.

A couple of questions to the board as I will be attending my first game this Fall.

What are some interesting/really should do things for a first time attendee??

When and where does the Drumline perform?

Places to eat?

Victors Walk, what time, and where?

Other game day traditions that are a must do or fan friendly??

Thanks for the help

You want to be at Revelli Hall off of Hoover Street 2 hours before the game, to see the drum line, then see The Michigan Marching Band march to the stadium's north parking lot where before they enter the stadium they play The Victors.

I know of about 60 great places to eat in Ann Arbor that are not chain restaurants, if someone were to start a thread I’m sure it would reach into the hundreds. But if your only coming for one game you should go to Zingerman's Delicatessen. Not that it’s better then the rest, but next time your watching a Michigan home game on TV and the announcers start talking about how good Zingerman's Delicstrssen is, you can say I ate there it’s pretty good.

I'm not sure you can go on the field unless your trying to get Hokes autograph. Did not see the band at all last year. Cheerleaders were on the field taking pictures but usually with kids(not creepy old guys). Refreshments were also available for purchase. The lines are huge. I stood outside the gates for and hour and then for two more after they opened, before I got a single autograph.
