QB depth could be scary next year. Know it's just a PWO and we're probably screwed if he has to play, but right now, we have Cade and Milton and then a freshman. Based on the way the recruitniks talk about McCarthy, he might come here regardless of who the coach is. But who know what will happen with Milton. Could see him transferring if it looks like Cade is frontrunner for starting job next year.

The good news is McCarthy sounds like he is going to arrive as a fully-capable backup. The kid is an elite 5* from a football factory who is getting the best possible high school coaching. He isn't going to be some project who will need several years to learn how to pass.

I hope so. Gotta have at least two capable Qbs at pretty much all times nowadays.

Hey!! What about Vallari??
December 2nd, 2020 at 2:19 PM ^
Lets hope he doesn't enroll early and get a head start "learning" from the current staff.

I’m more worried about Harbaugh breaking JJ than anything else.

Related to Ben?

Yup, younger brother

For all the talk about UM having a toxic environment or Harbaugh being ill-equipped for the job, seeing the younger brother of a recent team member agree to enroll and play for Michigan has to indicate that some of these murmurings are off target.

The Glasgows, James and Josh Ross, Lano and Vert Hill, Jess Speight even after Wilton transferred, now Max Bredeson.. lots of recent examples of this.

Didn't Ben have an older brother that was a stud baseball player?
December 2nd, 2020 at 1:59 PM ^
Same thing with little (giant) VanSumeren committing to play here. He's a top-250 DT recruit who has plenty of places to choose from.

That's why I don't believe all of those related comments. Sure the program and staff have issues, but i'm not buying the "toxic" statement.

Some kids realize that the NFL, while a dream, is most likely not going to happen. Going to Michigan you will have the chance to prove yourself to NFL scouts. But you will also get a great education and a zillion connections for the future. I call that maximizing opportunities.

The middle brother, Jack Bredeson, was a relief pitcher on Michigan's baseball team from 2016-2019.
December 2nd, 2020 at 2:20 PM ^
That was Jack Bredeson on the baseball team. This is Max.
December 2nd, 2020 at 2:21 PM ^
D'oh. Of course you are right. Fixed.
December 2nd, 2020 at 2:21 PM ^
I believe his first name was Jack. No Max l and Max ll.

Congrats, Max!

He QB's one of Wisconsin's football powerhouse teams (Hartland Arrowhead).

QB? Sounds like the next program savior to me!
December 2nd, 2020 at 3:40 PM ^
When does he make the move to TE?
December 2nd, 2020 at 3:43 PM ^
Congrats to Max!

Welcome Max! It's a tire fire here, but it's our tire fire. Go blue!

Hell, his high school highlights look more impressive than Milton's. Running and passing !

Nobody offers more preferred walk on‘s to brothers of players, and sons of Ex- Michigan players than Jim Harbaugh. You gotta love it.

I have a feeling he’s already better than Joe Milton
