Didn't he also say he wasn't sure UM would get past Indiana because he thinks IU will be good?!?
September 8th, 2009 at 6:06 PM ^
I didn't hear that, but I did get a phone call in the middle of the segment. I'm surprised he discounts ND that much. I might be more surprised he thinks that highly of [TEAM REDACTED]. They have similar un-tested QBs and are breaking in new RBs. That just seemed odd.

Yes he did say that. I am not sure he knows what he's talking about. Can anyone remember when Indiana was relevant?

Yes. He said IU was good and wasn't sure how we'd handle them.
A little secret about Michael Wilbon that a whole lot of educated people might try to hide from you: Michael Wilbon is a raging idiot that knows dick about sports.

to charge the mound with your bat if a pitcher tries to bean you. I would be surprised if he has ever participated in organized sports.

Wilbon was actually a pretty decent High School Pitcher in his day. Varsity starter in the Chicago area.
His shoulder is torn up because of misuse and hence the pathetic 1st pitch throw a couple years ago.

And he said Notre Dame's first real test is MSU

Wilbon is a Northwestern slappy and has said many times he dislikes M. To speak to the his point, I think he was trying to say that match up is between two teams no one is sure about yet so what can you really learn? He assume that green team is a solid proven team which is where I believe his point falls apart.

how exactly are the Spartans (coming off a win over a FCS team) a proven team? If anything, ND is much more proven at this point. Agreed. I am not a fan of Wilbon.

Wait: [TEAM REDACTED] is Illinois in my world. Did he mention them, or State?
September 8th, 2009 at 6:58 PM ^
Illinois is coached by [NAME REDACTED], and I could see the confusion. About three weeks ago, when every other post was about State, I stopped using their name and used that for emphasis.

This smacks of the "Spinner vs. Quick" confusion that was rampant on UM-themed message boards, until GERG stomped that out by insisting that there is no such thing as a Spinner.

There is no such thing as [TEAM REDACTED].
There.
Feels like the...um, every year before last year again, don't it?

Your thread title threw me. With all the drama going on, I had to re-check the schedule to see when Michigan is playing the Freep...

[NAME REDACTED] is coach at Illinois.
Meanwhile [TEAM REDACTED] is coached by [COACH REDACTED] who walks on water and owns Michigan recruiting.
[Expletive deleted] 'em all.

He did not even try to base his comment on logic.
