PSU 2005 deja vu?

Submitted by joeyb on

Alright, I don't think we are going to win this weekend, but the circumstances are stangely familiar and I had to post the similarities.

In 2005 3-3 Michigan played a 6-0 Penn State team. Penn state came into the game ranked #3 in the AP Poll. One of PSU's touchdowns came off of a fumble on the QB run, which was run back for the score. The final TD of the game was on a last second pass to a freshman receiver wearing #86.

And to top it off, the final score of that game was 27-25, which was the same score of our Wisconsin game.

We ended up 7-5 that season after losing to Nebraska in the Alamo bowl.

I know that it is a stretch, but if there was an omen, this is it.

That is so ironic!  And not that normal/real definition of ironic.  I'm talking the Alanis Morrisette ironic where everything is big coincidence and not actually ironic

Michigan played a great game in 2005 and was successful that year because, at that juncture, Penn State had only lost to the Wolverines 6 straight times -- no sneaking up this year. Everyone associated with PSU has the number 9 firmly in mind this week.
