Predictions for Mich/IU bball

Submitted by goblue85 on

We have ourselves a huge game tonight on ESPN primetime 9pm at Indiana.  I started the thread early as I am heading to work as we speak.  I really think the pressure will be on Indiana tonight being home and having to win more.  I think Michigan will use the Ohio game as hopefully a measuring tool to help benefit them in this game.  Big games bring out the best of Burke and THJ.  I have been waiting for this moment all week.  I think Michigan steals one and gets a huge win tonight.

Michigan 83

Indiana 79

Today's reading for John Beilein (b. Feb 5, Aquarius) has him basking in the warm glow of the U-M family for his horoscope says that he should "open your heart to the love that is all around you." But for Tom Crean (b. Mar 25, Aries) things could be unsettling, for he is advised that "setting a pace and sticking to it is more important than reaching your goal today."

Too bad for Tom, the stars are not aligned for him this evening and U-M wins by 4.

Playing IU doesn't really scare me so much as having to play at Assembly Hall does. Its just so difficult to win there, and you can bet that their crowd will be on fire tonight. The team just needs to be able to handle the pressure of the moment and do whatever it can to get off to a fast start to hopefully neutralize the crowd. I don't like making predictions, but this game has the makings of one that will come down to the wire.

Is Morgan going to play? He did such a great job on Zeller last year, so I think he could be a crucial piece in this game.

Either way, Michigan has a great shot if they stay out of foul trouble. 73-68 Meeeechigan!

Free throws, that is. Final score 74-69. My reaction will be "Have fun with the refs, IU, you won't be getting that love in the B1G or NCAA tourney."

In 1976, Indiana beat Michigan three times in one season.  Michigan never got revenge on Indiana for spoiling what had been their best team since the Cazzie Russell era.  This team probably doesn't know much about 1976, but Michigan could have a chance to beat Indiana four times in one season.  And it starts in Assembly Hall tonight: Michigan 79, Indiana 76.

That ESPN will play that stupid 5 Hour Energy commerical to the point I get pissed that the guy didn't do anything productive during his 5 hour meth rage.

People are vastly overestimating our ability. There hasn't been a top 5 matchup in 20 years in Bloomington, it's going to be a crazy atmosphere. Indiana by 8 Edit: we have lost the last 14 of 15 in Bloomington

Thinking Indiana all week. We are evenly matched, and that is a tough place to win. Then I woke up with this feeling this morning. Last time I had this type of gut feeling on a bball game day, we were NIT bound heading to East Lansing against a heavily favored MSWho team. I really think we pull this off tonight.

Lead goes back and forth all game, but we get down a couple possessions late, have to foul, IU ends up winning by 7.   I would be happy to be wrong.

Michigan fouls less than anyone in college basketball.  It will be interesting to see how that plays out at Assembly Hall.  Really it's a shame because IU is a great team without getting a free throw advantage.  Would be nice if we could just watch these two teams go at it.  If you take the refs out it's a toss up.

Mad props before the game and Michigan goes out and beats IU's ass.

Lived in B-town from 92-2000.  Went to most games at Assembly Hall when Michigan came to town.  Watched them all lose.  Could hear the General scream over the crowd sometimes and that crowd gets loud.  Fab 5 against Calbert and that ho Allen Henderson.  The ban boys Traylor, Taylor, and Bullock. Jamal Crawford being the best athlete on the floor but throwing up a ton of bricks.  Some Ellerbe teams.  All lost.

Today Michigan gets it done.  81-78.

Michigan just does not fare well at Assembly Hall for some reason. I have a feeling we might see an OSU repeat, Michigan gets down big to start and slowly crawls back into the game only to lose as Indiana sinks their FT's late.

Indiana     67

Michigan  63

For any M fan in Louisville, where are YOU watching the game?

I'm thinking Diamonds on Barrett Ave.
