Positive article about Ty Isaac
There had been some rumblings that Ty was not fully motivated, but this seems to put that to rest. He is down to a solid 236 lbs. and determined to prove that he is 'the guy'. IMHO he definitley is.
It doesn't have anything to do with Stanford/USC. They weren't even at those respective California schools at the same time.

Things I've heard. That's all I'm going to say. It's not about deflecting. It's about discretion.

It's deflection to protect your sources.
Just because something is an example of discretion doesn't mean it isn't also a deflection.

It's a significant difference.

Not at all. Isaac is my favorite back on the roster. There's no reason for me to make up negative things about him.

I think Isaac is the most talented back on the roster. Whether that translates into getting the most carries, starting, etc., I don't think anyone really knows right now. I would like to see him win the starting job because he has a chance to be a game-changer, while I think the other guys will mostly just get whatever the line gets them plus a broken tackle here or there.
Aren't you the one that says Harbaugh is holding some kind of emotional grudge against Isaac and has him in the doghouse?

The article says he weighs 236 lbs., by the way. Not 234.

I'm not sure it will be Ty Isaac, but, yeah, i'm gonna say it: ENOUGH WITH THE WE'RE NOT WORTHY TO COMPETE WITH OHIO STATE BULLSHIT. Whew, that felt good. Hoke brought in extremely highly ranked talent, and laid a giant goose egg... I will say it, again, we are NOT that far from OSU's talent, but we need to believe we are good enough and we need to play as a TEAM. Mr. Harbaugh is the perfect solution for what this team needs to play up to the level of recruited talent we have had! I guess I want to know why UM couldn't have a back leading the Big 10 after 6 or even 12 games???? This should not be a 3 year turnaround. Period.
My guess is that it will be Ezekiel Elliott or Corey Clement, but we'll see.
Very curious as to how the RB situation pans out. 4 Backs. 2 (Issac & Green) were elite recruits, Smith was a boarderline 3/4 star guy and Drake has been an overacheivier.
With our QB situation up in the air, and with a finally vetreanish OL, i expect the ground game to be very much improved in general.
The QB situation isn't up in the air as to whether we'll have a passing game, which is what you imply. We know that - at a minimum - we have a 5th year senior in Rudock who should be solid enough behind that veteranish OL to provide an adequate passing game. I think he brings more than that. If someone else wins the job then we should be even better.
I agree on the OL. I think they really surprise this year, starting with Utah.

Yeah, no clue about the ceiling, but the floor has really been raised on this team . . . competent coaches, Rudick, Isaac, return of Drake Johnson, experienced O-Line and D-Line with some actual depth, Peppers . . . this is not a team that's going to lose to the likes of Rutgers and Maryland. 8-4 is the floor.
