Porn company BangBros submits $10 million naming rights bid for Miami Heat stadium

Looking forward to reading the one liner comments on this story....

Things are changing in Miami and apparently BangBros wants in.

"American Airlines' naming rights deal over the Miami Heat arena will expire at the end of this year. Yet, the company announced on Thursday that it doesn't plan on renewing their contract with the franchise. This leaves a void that BangBros is looking to fill. According to the Miami-based internet porn company, it has placed a $10 million bid to rename the arena "The BBC (The Bang Bros Center).""

I didn't when I sold my place in May.

I had multiple offers and went with a middle one.  It was $25K less than the highest offer.  I did that for a number of reasons:

1.  I suspected the buyer was an investor.  I lived in one of the two historic neighborhoods in town.  One is completely gentrified and unobtainable for most people.  Mine, was on the way to being that way but not there yet. That neighborhood needs people to come in and maintain the beauty of things the way they were back in the 1890s - 1900s.  Not scrape properties.

2.   The offer I accepted seemed to have stronger financials.

Off the top of my head, reasons not to take the highest offer include:

  • Timing: will they close when you need them to?
  • Will they rent back to you for a month or two after closing so you don't have to move twice? I moved twice last summer and we would have happily taken a lower offer (depending on how much lower, of course) if we could have avoided that.
  • Does the buy have any conditions and contingencies? Some of these could cost you money or be a general pain in the ass and others could cause problems for closing (i.e., if the offer is contingent on the buyer having sold their house). We got an offer on a house from a pair of lawyers once and it came with a whole list of things. They didn't offer enough additional money to make it worthwhile.

Obviously most buyers are willing to put up with more bullshit for a significantly higher offer, but when the difference is smaller it can matter.

PornHub is branching out into sponsoring legitimate art exhibits at reputable museums.

A friend told me. I only read Bloomberg for the pictures.

"The BBC"?

At first I thought that was too small for a name, but then realized that's probaby why they hid "big" in the name to compensate.

Clever, those guys.
