Ummmm.  This can’t be right.  Both Maryland and UM get run up and down at home in a pair of two loss weeks and don’t move in the polls?

edit:  barely move

The truth is we're still clearly better than #25 in the country. In terms of AP rankings I would've expected us to drop out as well, but in terms of predictive rankings such as KenPom, we're around a top 15 team in the country still. I think that so late into the season, AP rankings are factoring that into account.

Edit: The B1G is just so competitive this year, so it makes sense in hindsight that we're still at #25. The #12 team in the conference is #31 in KenPom and they probably won't even make the NCAAs. Meanwhile the #1 Pac-12 team (UCLA) is #80 in KenPom and I believe they'll get in.

Christ, who cares? They’re  just a bunch of damn numbers arbitrarily assigned by sportswriters.

Everyone in that group is going to be invited and will be 0-0 going into the NCAA tournament. There’s no true home court advantage either for the higher seeds.

Basketball rankings are the most worthless thing in sports that people actually pretend means something.

It's just so many teams with rather mediocre records this season and that's the main reason why Michigan is still in the top 25 and considered to be safely in the NCAA tournament.

Michigan has the best wins out of the many other teams that have between 10 to 12 losses this season.

It really does not matter where Michigan gets seeded. When they are playing well they can beat the top teams-they have proven this. They have won six in a row already this season. They just need to find that sweet spot again and make another run.

Problem is we beat up on the bad teams in the Big Ten.  We are 2-8 against the 7 teams above us in the Big Ten standings with only 1 of those wins coming since December.  Probably will finish 2-9 with a loss @ Maryland.

We are the definition of an average team.  We beat the teams that aren't that good this year and lose to the ones that are.  We are most likely going to be a 7 or 8 seed, might get out of round 1, and then will get trounced in the 2nd round by a better team.
