Franklin felt so bad that we gave up the fake punt after calling a timeout to prepare for it, that he decided to call a 2nd fake just to give us a second chance to stop one.

Henning on those punt returns…..always an adventure.

Kid has some wheels and can bust a big run but to my untrained eye it seems like he takes way too many chances and I’m amazed he hasn’t coughed up a fumble yet.

ST have been the strength of this team all year. Today,. not so much.

Fantastic time out call to prepare for a fake punt. Somehow it still worked. I'm sorry, but that was a STUPID call by Franklin, running a fake after a time out. Should never have worked. Incredible blunder by Michigan punt team - how do you not stop a fake punt you had an entire time out to prepare for? Crazy.

OTOH, Michigan seemed very prepared for fake FG. Well done.

Punt returner and blocker playing keystone cops. We were incredibly lucky that didn't result in a turnover.

50% on attempts to pin the ball down close. Terrific punts that should both have worked.

Most games our ST are an A+. Today was probably a C.

Punt gunners should overrun the punt heading toward the goal line and stand guard at the 2 yd line.  Trailing the punt to the goal line almost never works out because of momentum.  Otherwise, M special teams are great.

Michigan has been averaging 20.7 yards per kick return this season. LINK Until Jehu Chesson and Jabrill Peppers are returning kickoffs again for Michigan, is it safest to take the fair catch on kicks that fall short of the end zone?

When I saw PSU line up for a punt, I remarked it was an obvious fake. I was happy to see that we called a time out, thinking that we were going to strategize, expecting a fake punt; however, I read somewhere that Harbaugh said the time out was called due to us having too many players on the field.

And yes, the placeholder can,and always does, have his knee on the ground and that is allowed.

I want to know that in a situation where a fake punt is a strong possibility, why have anybody back to field the punt? While you obviously run the risk of a punt more likely to be downed deep in your own end, you make it less likely for a fake punt to succeed.
