Injuries, results, schedule (Germany may have clinched and be bored, and be nice to Klinsmann by the time they play US) all good. Plus we have the motivation to beat the team that knocked us out the last two cups (ask Spain how that Netherland's steam roller felt - or the Heat). We should be sky high. Feeling really good right now. GO USA!!!

Well I knew the first few days of the World Cup could not hold up- the games were all so good.  Yesterday's Honduras-France game and this one are real snoozers.   CMON 6 PM GET IN MY BELLY!

Nigeria really looks off today. Credit to Iran for making things difficult for them.

Iran even making some good counterattacking runs up field now.

Well, this game is making me appreciate how good all the other games have been. Turning this off to actually work for an hour.

I cannot wait for 6:00pm and the US/Ghana soccer game.

Boy - you talk about a sentence you NEVER thought you'd say in your life and mean it....that would up there.

I also expect it to be a lot more interesting game evem if one is a neutral.  Two teams who play more open and aggressive than this mess right now.   Ghana and Ivory Coast are the class of Africa and U.S. is obviously right now (depending on where Mexico is mentally) the best in CONCOCAF.

Watched Iran/Nigeria on my 2nd screen at work on WatchESPN.com

Back home so I can pregame for the pregame.

But I sat down to finish this match and instantly got nervous. It's exciting to care. I've always LOVED international soccer (I love international sports, period)...but this year is different for some reason. Maybe it's the "I Believe" everywhere, but I'm drinking the juice. I fucking BELIEVE!

This game is huge because if its not a draw, the winner has the path to 2nd place IMO.

Coming into the tourney I was not a believer in Portugal because they are always a collection of talent rather than a team.  Both Ghana and USA play as a team so I think can at least draw.   With how this afternoon went US simply had everything fall their way for Portugal game short of Ronaldo getting injured ....but he is already petulant.

Sort of sucks the whole tourney depends on this first game - I am not a big believer that Germany "lets down" in game 3 allowing US to "win".  Their backups are as good as our "A" team, and they wont sit everyone anyhow.  So I consider that a loss so we need a win and a draw in these first 2 games minimum.

If we take today's lineup as the starting eleven, the backup German side people are so excited to see would feature Schweinsteiger, Podolski and Klose. That's well over 100 national team goals right there, and it's been the core of their national team for almost a decade.
