LOL, now I want to know what constitues a "unit" for you.

Minnesota as a 7.5 point road dog is pretty low.  I get it, they've allowed only 8 PPG thus far and reportedly have a Top 10 defense.  Last year's defense, however, in their only 2 road games against ranked teams --- allowed 45 points to PSU and 26 to Illinois (should have been worse, Illinois had 2 TDs but kicked 4 FGs on 4 drives inside the 12).

They allowed 27 to Iowa --- of all teams --- in 2021, their 3rd most recent road trip versus a ranked team

Anyway, I agree with the big UNC bet.  UNC and Moye moves the ball and scores in the 30s, they cover.

I'm guessing "Schrute bucks."

About the game/bet, yeah, I was surprised to see UNC only getting 7.5 points against a pretty bad looking Minnesota squad. Probably an overreaction to UNC's close win over App State last week but I predicted that ASU would cover the +19 spread as that is basically the Carolina version of the UM-MSU game where ASU is the "little brother" and plays out of their mind.

After two weeks, I am a perfect 8-0 on my "fake" picks (no money actually wagered). I'm thinking about starting my own sports gambling blog and charging $9.99 for my weekly picks. I'm going to go one more week of "fake" picks and if I keep kicking ass, I may actually try laying down some actual money again for the first time in a while. Of course, the moment I actually make a true wager I'll probably start losing.

Anyhoo, my top four picks for the week:

WMU @ Iowa: Under 43.5

BGSU @ Michigan: BGSU +40.5

WKU @ OSU: WKU +30.0

Va Tech @ Rutgers: Rutgers -7.0

Bonus picks:

Minnesota @ UNC: UNC -7.0

WMU @ Iowa: WMU +28.0

A few other games I like:

Northwestern @ Duke: Duke -17.0

South Alabama @ Oklahoma State: Okie State -7.0 (Is this line even correct?!?)

San Jose St. @ Toledo: Toledo -7.5

Colorado St @ Colorado: Colorado -23.5

That last game looks crazy based on what we were expecting from Colorado this season, but with their obvious improvement and Norvell's odd decision to "poke the bear", I suspect Sanders will take every opportunity to run up the score on the hapless Rams.

I am staying away from Michigan -41.  I like betting Michigan so I will probably do a 6 point teaser of Michigan and the over.

Leaning MSU and the points against Washington.

LSU -9.5

Interesting. I would probably go the other way and take a 6 pt teaser to get to BGSU +46.0 and Under 59. That would qualify for the "Smooth Jimmy's Lock of the Week" pick for me.
