OT - United States Soccer at Ford Field

Submitted by hockeyguy9125 on

For all the soccer fans out there in the Southeastern Michigan area. The draw for the CONCACAF Gold Cup was announced and Metro Detroit gets the US National Team.

June 7th at Ford Field, Group C: United States vs Canada

This is bad ass, I can't wait to get tickets.

I selfishly wish it was in Chicago, but Detroit is the next best.  I strongly suggest attending and getting ticket's in the Sam's Army section if you are able to.  Think UM Hockey student section type atmosphere.  Has there been any word on whether or not Ford Field will be bringing in grass, like the Silverdome did for the World Cup?

I missed the AC MIlan exhibition a few months back but this is much better.  Thanks for posting, I will be ordering tickets as soon as they become available.

I am absolutely going. I drove to NYC last year for the USMNT match vs. Brazil, and this game is right in our backyard. Canada is the best matchup other than Mexico Detrioit could have hoped for. So pumped!

It seems like there will be a presale on Wednesday (tomorrow I presume). They say more details to come. Just a quick glance through their website.

I imagine they will have ticket info coming out soon.  They both also have facebook pages that will pump out updates as soon as they have them.  I believe, but am not 100% positive, that the American Outlaws sit within the Sam's Army section.  At least I think they did during the World Cup qualifying match I went to.  I wasn't in charge of buying the tickets, so I'm not positive.

Any word on when tix go on sale and how much. This might be a lot of fun. Just getting into soccer now that my kids play and I want to see if a US National team game is as nuts as it looks.

I'm very curious to what the starting 11 will be.  I really think BB needs to start capping some of these young players who have dual citizenships.
