He is a fourth-line player at best, and he probably came to keep Hossa company as a fellow Slovakian. I would rather see Abdelkader or Leino in Motown than him. This should make the rivalry more fun, though.
Now, if we can get someone to take Sammy off our hands! I would love to see someone offer Hudler a $3M offer, so that we can get a 1st and 3rd round pick (Maybe, LA or MTL will get anxious after striking out early).
I would have liked to have seen Kopecky stay in Detroit, but it's not a huge loss.

This is not a big deal at all. He is a 3rd line player at best in the NHL, IMO. I hope with this money off the Wings books that they can resign one of Hudler and Samuelson and then make a small spalsh in the free agent market. I do not think Detroit will be back to the finals without some fresh faces. And by fresh faces I mean more playing time for young Griffins (Helm, Abdelkader, Leino) and/or a free agent signing.
Plus, Howard needs to step it up in goal as a solid backup goalie or the Wings will be hurting.
